Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA bit far from the center (20 mins walk) and Monkey forest (35+ mins walk). The area seemed a bit deserted at night, I didn't feel very comfortable walking there in late evening. There are lots of mosquitoes (but anti mosquito appliances are provided in the room). Breakfast could do with more variety, you get 3 options which don't change day to day, and for tea they only have black tea.
Lovely guesthouse, would stay again. Nice garden and 2 small swimming pools (they provide pool towels in your room). It is in a quiet area away from the center. My room was at the back of the hotel, on the edge of a cliff with my balcony facing the jungle - an amazing view! I really enjoyed breakfast served on the balcony. The room and bathroom were spacious. Mini fridge in the room. I took one of their private tours (Ulan Danu temple on the lake and Jatiluwih rice terraces) - it was good, the price was better than quoted by some other drivers, the driver didn't rush me and I had enough time to enjoy the places. The owner was helpful and happy to accommodate my requests.

GermanyWe liked that it was near to the city center (walking distance), but in the same time very calm. The room itself had everything what it needed, it had a lot of space and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a bit old (so even though it was clean it didn’t look super). But in conclusion the guesthouse has a really good price-quality ratio! We also really enjoyed the breakfast! It was a great start in the day and generous compared to our other stays in bali. The staff was really friendly and polite- all our questions were answered- we really thank you for the nice stay! :)

United KingdomThe property is on the outskirts - which meant it was quiet and peaceful. Taxis were easy to get. It was around 20 mins walking to get into the centre. I would recommend hiring a moped for easier access to the area in general.
Nice pool area and the grounds were kept clean and tidy. They brought breakfast to our terrace for a time made convenient for us. The breakfast was good - a nice, simple selection to choose from. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. They put on trips for us and really looked after us. The room was large and clean.

RomaniaNothing to say
I chosed this location because is close to Ubud centre but meantime is not that crowded so we enjoyed quiet days at this accomodation. The guest was really friendly and the whole staff also. We rented a bike directly from them and we liked this beacuse was so easy. The breakfast was really good, we ask them to overcook the eggs because they weren't but that wasan't a problem. The pool, the garden, the sourroundings, really beautiful. But, keep in mind that this is a guesthouse, if you are more pretentions maybe you won't like it as much as I. The quality price raport was really good and that was another reason to pick this accomodation. For sure we had a great time!

PolandThe only small downsize was the location. Although it was quite close to the city center (1,2 k - 10 to 15 min)l by foot, the road was quite busy and did not have the sidewalk for the last 200-300m. But this is more general problem of Bali.
Very clean rooms, the inside of the guest house very quiet and cosy. Real family experience. The service was fantastic - the owner and the staff was very helpful. They have organized us the day tour around the area and boat transfer to Lombok. My wife had birthday during the last day of our stay and the staff organized small cake which was super nice of them. The guest house itself very spacious, you felt like being alone there as they have 3 swimming pools so the guests had their own private areas. The breakfast was delivered to the patios near each room which was very convenient allowing to have breakfast outside surrendered by beautiful vegetation. Kids were super happy with the stay - they were able to follow the grandma/ mama of the owner learning how to prepare traditional offerings. It was a great value for money!

PortugalWe enjoyed every bit of Nyoman Sandi Guest House, located inside a traditional Balinese gate and with such a warm welcome from everybody, this was the perfect place to stay on Ubud. Amazing pancakes for breakfast and at the perfect distance from the buzzling main street to be away from the chaos and noise but still walking distance. Good AC, complimentary water bottles every day and you can rent a motor bike from them directly. Couldn't recommend more! Thank you to our hosts 🙏

IrelandGreat guest house run by a wonderful family and attentive staff. Large spacious rooms, in a beautiful garden, which has the beautiful houses of the owning family in the beautiful architectural style of Bali and a beautiful family temple. Walking distance from the center of Ubud Town, but far enough to have a quiet and calm stay away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud Town.
