Really wished if people wouldn't smoke inside the bar, but we'll what can you do? Had fun regardless..

A classy hotel in every right. Unaware of the historical significance of this institution, I booked it as a treat to end an adventurous trip around East Java. My oh my! Wasn't this a treat indeed? Excellent location, supreme service and above it all, an incredible country's culture in display in every nook and corner. We tried the Maj as well. Bartending and service at its finest. Enjoyed the live music thoroughly. Really wished if people wouldn't smoke inside the bar, but we'll what can you do? Had fun regardless..

The sigarette odur which is coming from the pub. Blèèh! We did't visite the pub because of the dirty sigarette smoke. You even smell it in a part of the lobby. Smoking in luxuous hotels is past time to my opinion.

Some parte of this hotel are stille like the original state of this hotel, the historic photogallery about the early days of this hotel are very interesting. The swimmingpool has a very luxuous look & feel The large photo at the wall at the reception is my favourate!

Bathroom shower was clogged and got flooded after a while. Furniture was a bit old and felt damp. Room was quite far away from the lobby which made it a long walk to get out.

Hotel was a very grand setting. Large and spacious with a nice pool and gym area. Restaurant and bar is supposed to be good but we didn't try. The room was huge and felt grand.

On arrival, we were upgraded to a suite, which was unexpected. The suite was fantastic, lounge area, bedroom and bathroom. The staff are great they are so welcoming and do everything to make your stay special. The hotel has all the amenities you need, a nice restaurant, a large swimming pool and spa. The grounds within the hotel are very peaceful and well kept, and the hotel has kept its old charm. Overall the hotel was very good value for money, certainly go back if in surabaya.

The tobacco smoke in the bar but that is national regulation.

This is ike coming home to Surabaya. One of the main reasons for my visit is to stay at Majapahit. They so kindly upgraded me to the higher category room, which makes working from the room even easier. Breakfast buffet was excellent, and dinner was also awesome. Ambience- Classy

I wish we were staying more than one night! It would also be nice to have some hotel merchandise available to purchase, a bit like the gift shop of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Alhough the rooms and hotel being old is generally a good thing, as you can't manufacture heritage like this, the decor does feel a little tired in places, particularly with things like leaks in the corridors when it rains. In fairness to the hotel, there is clearly an extensive programme of renovation underway. We also had a few mosquitoes in the room, probably due to the balcony, which was otherwise a nice feature to have.

It really feels like you have stepped back in time as soon as you arrive at the door and leave the busy road behind. Everything from the lobby to the rooms feels appropriate to the heritage of the hotel. The Art Deco features are beautiful, particularly the stained glass that can be found in the lobby and many of the corridors. Don't miss a drink or at least a peek into the adjacent Maj bar as that is also a real time warp. We didn't use the pool, but it looked decent. Everything is set around lush gardens and fountains. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of western and local options. Service throughout our stay, from check-in to check-out, was quick and efficient.
