Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI would have liked a bed light so I could read in bed
Breakfast was not included in the price, but our host Ibu Ayu offered us a flexible choice of breakfasts tailored to our dietary requirements as well as teas and coffee throughout the day for a very reasonable fixed price per day. The breakfasts were a good size and very tasty. I was getting over a bout of flu and she made several fresh herbal teas that I am sure helped with my recovery. Ibu Ayu was always readily available and very responsive to our needs. She organised a traditional Balinese cooking class for us, which we really enjoyed. Our room was large and comfortable with a beautiful wooden pyramid ceiling and plentiful hot water. It is about 15 minute walk from Ubud Palace and about 20 minutes walk from the rice fields past a traditional market.

IndiaNothing. Everything was spectacular!
This is a stunningly quiet and serene place to stay, at a walkable distance from Ubud Palace. It's quiet because it's not on the dense main road. More importantly, Ayu takes your comfort seriously! We got a room on the higher floor, with a nice spacious balcony, overlooking the trees and structures of the cute property - almost feels like a calming retreat! Ayu is a great cook and she helped us with everything - a scooter to go around Ubud, suggestions and directions. She is very interested to learn from everyone and it makes interactions with her easy and honest. To summarize: - Location 10/10 - Hospitality 10/10 - Cleanliness 10/10 - Food 10/10

South KoreaThe host and staff were very friendly. (The host's cousin was also very friendly.) It was a pleasant place from the moment we checked in to the check-out time. With breakfast added, we had delicious fruits and Western breakfast. The bedding was clean and very pleasant. I stayed for two days and they cleaned the room at all. The water quality was also clean, so the shower filter did not change at all. Especially, the cats living here are so cute that if you like cats, you must come here once. Throughout my stay, I felt that they were well-maintained. The price was so good and highly recommended. Even the Ubud Palace is very close and near the center, so it has excellent access to restaurants and attractions. If I have to visit Ubud again next time, I will visit again.

BelgiumThe stay is in a nature environment so it's normal to have lizards occasionally visiting the room. But even that, every room has an anti-insectplug. No need to worry.
I had an amazing stay at this wonderful place! The location is perfect—just a stone's throw from the city (15 min walk). The host, Ayu, was incredibly sweet and always went above and beyond to help with everything. She will be forever in our hearts. Ayu was very friendly and warm-hearted. The breakfast was delicious, and honestly, there's no need to eat anywhere else because the breakfast here is top-notch. I highly recommend booking your scooters and activities here. You won't find a better price anywhere else than with Ayu. I want to extend a special thank you to ayu and the entire staff for making my stay so comfortable and enjoyable, with a special shoutout to Ayu, one of the true stars of the team. I will definitely be coming back!

United KingdomI had a really nice, warm, homely stay at Jero Griya. Its such a beautiful homestay with a beautiful garden and temple. The host was so friendly and great too talk with, I enjoyed our coffee and chats :) The room is clean and spacious with a comfortable bed, aircon and hot running water - what more do you need. The breakfast provided is generous with a nice plate of delicious fruit from their garden. The location is so ideal, a little quieter than the main area of Ubud, but walking distance to Ubud palace, shops, cafes and restaurants. It was a really lovely stay and can't wait to come again next year.

United KingdomThe property was very clean and the rooms were cleaned daily. The location was great as it was walking distance from lots of restaurants and you can get grabs to main attractions very easily. What made our time here was the lovely lady who owned the properties, she was always smiling and took time to speak with us every day. She even brought us a tray of coffee and tea into our room on our last morning and waved us goodbye. Couldn’t recommend staying here enough. Thank you.
