The only complaint are ones that are out of the properties control however less mobile people and those that struggle with street noise when sleeping. The stairs are narrow but again this is not a control over the owners but if you’re a large person or not too mobile you may find them a little difficult. You can hear the street noise a lot. We can sleep through most noises so either bring earplugs or look for somewhere a bit further out of town.

It was clean and in a good location. Great for the price you pay. Nice breakfast too which is a sweetener. We only had it the one day out of our three night stay as we are just not brekkie people and didn’t want to waste food. Bed was comfy, not a rock like most places. Hot water in bathroom. Surprisingly no insects as the bathroom is open, it was great. The family were lovely and even sorted our laundry for us! Thank you for a lovely stay!

This is a comfortable room (with good AC and surprisingly good WiFi, too) on the top floor of a family compound, with only one other guest room, so it’s wonderful for travelers who’d like some peace and quiet. The moment you step outside your door, the view from the balcony will make you smile, and the sounds of prayer from the temple across the street or of ceremonial dances at the end of the block will often drift up to the room in the evenings, reminding you of what a special place you’ve found. The hosting family just radiates kindness (and makes great pancakes), and if you’re a morning riser, this is a perfect place to get up early, go for a walk in the rice fields while the city is still waking up, maybe grab a coffee at one of the cafes that opens early, like Jolted or Sunny Coffee, and then come back home for breakfast.

Great place in the price/quality ratio! Location in the center, close to all infrastructure: restaurants, stores, pharmacies. Delicious breakfasts, cleaning in the room, regular change of towels and linens. The main impression is the incredible kindness and care on the part of the owners, were always ready to help suggest trips, entertainment and meals. At the same time completely unobtrusive. You come as if in the house to old friends! By the way, the offer of airport transfer was more favorable than any cab, I recommend to agree! In general, this place is very right for budget travel!

The people from Japa were so warm and accommodating. We arrived there so late (around 3 in the morning) and they even accommodate and showed us our room. The breakfast was wonderful. My partner liked the Balinese cake so much. Thank you so much for helping us with the scoopy and the car parking (which we didnt check initially prior to booking) but they have helped and made our stay wonderful and homey. Location wise- it is at the center so you can walk to most of the warungs and souvenir markets.

Very homey stay, big room with a balcony with a view of the town and a temple. Wifi and hot water is very good. And breakfast every morning. There is a lot of cool diners on the street also. This is great and affordable stay in Ubud! Owners are really nice.

I need walls need to be repaired and renewed. probably due to moisture, the paints swelled and peeled off. There was a lot of ants but outside of the door.

Owners are so kind and eager to help you about everything. Breakfast was enough. Location was good. Great view with your breakfast.

A small part of the wall was a bit damaged probably due to big rain but this was very minor, and very understandable given that Bali suffered so much due to covid. So I'd still recommend the place!

Super friendly hosts! Ngurah also helped me with airport transfer so it was awesome. The property is also very clean :) There's also a nice balcony with a table that you can use to work with a view :) One tip: try the Suka Sehat warung/restaurant right next to the place. It's a family-owned business serving delicious food (&kombucha) with vegan options!

Would have liked to have access to a small fridge to keep drinks/snacks cool. Minor issue though since there are several places close by serving a variety of food and drinks.

Excellent location!! Host was very responsive and accommodating. Assisted with transfers and tour arrangements. Good breakfast served on the balcony every morning. Rooms were clean and air conditioning worked great!

This guest house is definitely value for money. Amazing view, delicious breakfasts and beautiful sundowns. Owners and family are very kind, nice and caring. You feel really comfortable and safe. Location is also great, you can find near a lot of warungs, restaurants, markets and fruit market in the morning. We’ll definitely come back!

It would be nice to repair the walls in the room. Plaster and paint falling off in some places. Located next to the Temple so we could hear loud music from Fire Dance till midnight.

All excellent! very clean, great bed, perfect pillows, superb shower, great location, lovely breakfast, friendly staff! It ticks all the boxes! Rarely I give 10/10 but have given two in a row which says a lot about Ubud. they go above and beyond to make you welcome. Value for money is unbeatable and my favourite part was the outdoor balcony area where they serve breakfast. It overlooks a temple and you can watch the world go by, locals playing music and making things, it's so lovely Yes it can be noisy from 6.30am but at night it's quiet and actually it nice to be woken so none of the day is wasted It would have been nice to have access to hot water for coffee but I'm sure if you asked they'd sort something for you I'd have stayed longer if they wasn't booked

We LOVED our stay at Japa House. The family that owns Japa were incredibly kind and helpful during our stay. They made up our room daily, the bed was comfy, AC worked great, it was quiet to sleep and the shower was hot. The breakfast was amazing, they serve it on the balcony, which has a nice view. We were shocked at how much value there was considering the low price. We also rented a scooter from them to go visit some waterfalls in the area. The location was on a nice quiet street, but still close enough to walk to the shops and restaurants. When we were checking out to go to Sidemen, she offered for her husband to drive us, which was cheaper for us than taking a Grab, which was greatly appreciated! I cannot recommend Japa House enough!
