Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandWe had some difficulties at the start with the shower, but a guy came in and fixed it all up for us :)
Super lovely service at the front and very helpful, loved the inside of the bungalow and the layout, great collection of complimentary teas, the mini fridge was also great to have, and all the creams for the mosquitos which were inevitable whilst staying there. Food from the onsite restaurant was also super yummy! The receptionist was very helpful when going about hiring one of their scooters.

United KingdomThe rooms have doors and windows that don’t shut unless you have a wedge which was missing for a couple of them so had to get spares from reception.

United KingdomI really liked the design of the bathrooms outside. You have to be careful because there are a lot of catepillars when showering. In my room in particular there was a crack in the wall of the bathroom which was quite visible, which made me feel unsafe. My room had a fan, not AC and the truth is that it is not very powerful and it is very hot. It is somewhat bearable if your stay here is short (I was here for 2 days) if you take a cold shower in the middle of the night. The mosquito net has done its job, although it had a few holes in it. The mats and cushions on the porch had quite noticeable dirt stains. At night you hear a lot of noise, especially dogs barking, some motorbikes and next door there are roosters and chickens that wake you up early. There is no hot water available in the shower
The place has a lot of charm. Especially because it is environmentally friendly. It is a place to relax. The design is beautiful. The gardens are very well kept and the facilities are ok.. Staff was friendly. Each bungalow has a porch which is great for reading, dining or just hanging out. Bed is comfortable Swimming pool.is great. Was nice that the offer cold water to refill.for the people.for free at the restaurant. The place is cheap and 5m walking distance from the beach. I thibk they can improve some things and make the most of it.

United KingdomSmall points not meant as criticisms: The cushions on the sunbeds were quite stained and musty and could perhaps do with a decent clean or replacement. Our cottage also smelt a little bit musty and the mosquito net had holes in it - although at the time of staying this didn't matter as Bali we found one of the least 'bug infested' places we've ever visited. It might however be an issue at a different time of year as the accomdation itself has a partially open front.
The accommodation has a beautiful pool and the layout of the individual bungalows is well thought out. The restaurant overlooks the pool and although it has limited offerings on the menu the staff were extremely friendly and the food and drinks on offer were good value. There is also cooled water which you can help yourself to - a lovely touch. The thatched huts are on stilts with a spacious shaded veranda to welcome you. Inside the room is rustic and basic but completely adequate and there was the bonus of a fridge - every room in Bali should have one - IMHO. The outdoor bathroom/shower again is simple with quite a clever bamboo shower (loads of hot water) - we were only staying one night so it was fine. Flower Bud is an ideal stop-over point for a return layover before flying home - our journey to the airport was 1/2 an hour max by taxi. I think this property represented excellent value for money. Staff were friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The accommodation is easy to find and only a few minutes walk from Bangalan beach. (Note, don't be put of the main road you have to traverse to get to Bangalan - the location itself is along a quiet winding country lane which becomes more and more serene the further on it goes. A quite word about the beach - so easy to access on foot and only a few minutes walk. The view is stunning; flanked by a golf course on the left and serene cliffs to the right and it became quickly apparent that it attracts avid sufers. You can wander along the shore and watch the sunset behind the shadowy surfing figures as they dedicately catch the waves well into the dusk. The beach itself isn't the cleanest but there was a warm atmosphere conjured by the confluence of locals and visitors of all ages sharing the space together and simply enjoying the calm and beautiful ocean.

New ZealandThe door doesn’t close properly when you lock it to leave. It’s a padlock so a few times I would come back to find my doors a quarter open. It means the aircon can’t do its job properly. The only other thing is there was NO sealed bottled water when I arrived including the restaurant. After arriving from a long day of travelling and having no water (and nowhere to buy as it was quite late) was not fun given the Bali heat. I asked for a coconut instead - also out of those. I had to settle for a soda water can. Otherwise everything was as expected.
The property was pretty much as expected. These are not criticisms but a few things to note for people who will travel here: the air conditioning doesn’t really make the bungalow cold (only a couple degrees colder than outside), the pillows and beds are on the firmer side, bring an eye mask if you like it dark as the lights outside come in through the windows, and bring earplugs if you don’t want to be woken up the roosters. There is actually not a whole lot around so bring snacks, water etc with you. The staff were all lovely, the pool was amazing (although a bit warm for my liking), mini fridge kept everything cold, and it’s 5-10 mins walk to Balangan beach.
