Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaDon't get me wrong it's a great room but there were some cons. The noise, there was so much road noise, noise from the area and construction. They provided earplugs for sleeping which were very needed. There were a lot of stairs to get up to the room, they helped me up and down with my suitcase. The room flooded in the front when it rained really hard twice. And the power went out during my stay (not the normal bali blackouts) the fuse on my room must have switched. And it is in the busiest spot in Ubud so there is a loot of road and foot traffic. No treadmill as pictured.
The room is gorgeous, the bed is super comfy, the bathroom is very pretty. There is a lovely view from the patio of the room. It's in the centre of the busy area of ubud, close walking distance to the markets, heaps of shops and restaurants nearby. Great price for the room. Koman was very helpful.

SwitzerlandI stayed two nights and on the first one the owner had to fix something in the room above. The construction noise lastet until 1 AM, so unfortunately I couldn't sleep before that. But I spoke to the owner and was offered a whole meal as a concession. Thank you for that!
I loved the location and the size and facilities of the room.

CanadaNo duvet, unfortunately just small fleece blanket. Not doable for 2 people. Luckily they gave us a second one when I asked, so we each slept with our own blanket. The washroom could be cleaner, but overall for the price it is still good. There is no fridge, water refill or kitchen facilities so keep this in mind.
Very great location in Ubud. You can walk to local activities & stores. The bed was comfy & the room was clean and spacious. Checkin and checkout were easy. Our booking included free breakfast which was nice.

South AfricaIt was too noisy and there were a few power cuts. Given that this accommodation is right next to the road soundproofing is definitely needed. Cars and motorbikes constantly passing even until the morning hours. There were also construction on the roof behind, so it was just a lot of noise constantly. I'm pretty chilled with these things, but it did affect my stay and sleep as I had to sleep with earplugs and they were not always enough to block the sounds coming from outside unfortunately. This is a beautiful room, it's just in a very unfortunate location.
This is a very modern and beautiful room. The full view windows provides such a great touch and the room was very comfortable to stay in. The staff comes to clean the room everyday, but you only receive water upon check in. I didn't really try the breakfast so I can't review that. The staff are all very helpful. Everything is as the pictures portrays. It's right near the main road so you have access to so many shops, stores, restaurants, etc. However... this comes with a downside too as it's so so noisy. You're in the heart of Ubud center.

AustraliaThe shared bathroom floods the entire floor while you shower. The power cut out a few times. The towels & linen weren’t particularly clean (crisp white). Aru House is the reception & there are little to no signs for “Dewa Hostel.” You walk into a construction site practically until you get to your room. I left early & headed elsewhere for a more comfortable stay.
The room was clean & comfortable. The air conditioning works. It was cheap / affordable.

AustraliaToo close to the construction sites around, people could actually see through my room from the other buildings. The towels are too old and all worn off, and also a lot of ants next to my bed.
The location is super convenient.

AustraliaThere was construction going on to the left of the balcony. The room had no sound proofing so you could hear every little sound from the street and neighbours. The room is all glass and the bathroom door doesn’t shut properly so when it is super hot, the air conditioning can’t keep up. I also asked for soap multiple times and never received any.
There was a nice balcony to sit and read on and the room had a comfortable bed.

CanadaA mirror by the bathroom sink would be an added bonus for shaving. Minor concerns.
My stay was moved to the Aru House. the staff were knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly. The breakfast was fantastic and the bed was extremely comfortable. I’m not too sure what happened because I had booked for a dorm room. But I’d like to comment and thank the management team for moving me into the private room. I believe this was due to an over booking type situation. Thank you for not turning me away after my booking had been reserved. It was a much more pleasant experience than the disappointment of finding out there were no more dorm room beds available. The bathroom was clean, the facilities appeared new. The location was fantastic and once again the staff were generously kind.
