Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndonesiaJust had my first stay at Aston in the city of Makassar, one of the hotels that has implemented a sustainable environmental care concept. Very impressed with the restaurant service as well, and there is an employee who maintains his integrity, given a fee for a thank-you when delivering the suitcase to the room, but he refused without reducing respect for the guest (on behalf of Rahman).

ThailandWish there was a little more variety with nearby restaurants or a lounge. Only other complaint is why is it impossible to find Soda water in both the main restaurant and the rooftop lounge. In all fairness the Circle K store next door also did not have Soda water as well
I had a suite on 10th floor. Room was huge with floor to roof windows. Fantastic panoramic view. Very comfortable living space, table and desk, couch and chair w table for dining. Very nice staff all around.

AustraliaBooked a non smoking room and got put into a smoking room on the first night as they had no non smoking available. It was appalling. No discount offered either. D Lounge can reek of smoke as well but it is Indonesia and smoking indoors is still the norm. Renovations were going on in an adjacent room which meant no napping during the day due to the noise. WiFi is dicky here. It randomly drops out for hours at times. It was my second stay here in 6 months and the WiFi still has the same issues.
Staff are friendly and helpful. We liked the variety and quality of the buffet food. D Lounge is a good place to chill. Gym is well equipped. Pool is great. Water coolers on each level is a great innovation.

NetherlandsWe had nothing to complain!
The hotel is convenient and meets al the expectations. They provide you with large comfortable and clean rooms, an excellent breakfast and if you want to enjoy a drink, maybe with a snack, there is a bar on the 19th floor with a great view on the Makassar city skyline.

IndonesiaI did have 2 problems One is the bathroom, the shower's water temprature was not stable. Second, there are no complimentary bottled water. You have to refill with the dispenser outside on the corridor. Normally, its fine, but with the pandemic, i don't think its appropriate. Well, those water dispensers are used by all guests, please reconsider this kind of system
Location was good, right at the center of Makassar, foods were close. Drove myself and parking space was great. All safety protocols are standardized, even on elevator.

IndonesiaI would like a higher floor at least 10 up. But they only have me ready on 6th floor which feels like really near to the ground. I was expecting to see more view, but the only view I got from the room was another hotel building and a small park. I wasn't get any other option from the staffs. The air conditioning is working hard to make the room cool especially at noon, in the evening the air con works fine. There are also a couple dying small roaches coming out from the bathroom through the living area. I am guessing they are running away from the pest control. The restaurant do not have any butter for the bread.
The staffs are super friendly and trying to be friendly as hard as they can. It really shows their dedication on being friendly to the guests. The restaurant staffs are really helpful and friendly too. The "cumi masak bumbu hijau" was superbly well cooked and really delicious. The food variety was nice too from local to western food. In their defense, the situation is still dire for hospitality industry at the moment. So all their lack of effort are understandable for me. All and all, this hotel is good for your buck if you have one to spare. Nb. I got discounted price than usual. If the price back to normal, I would more than likely can not afford it.

SpainThe only downside I see is that all the rooms smell quite strongly of tobacco. In the bar, on the rooftop, people smoke inside the facilities. That's the only downside I see.
"In general, the stay has been good. The service from the boys and girls who run the hotel is excellent. They are very polite and very willing to meet any need or service that the user may require. Otherwise, everything is fine."
