Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing much negatively about this place. I can mention that it's bit far from the centre of Ubud, which we knew before. For us it wasn't a big issue as first days in Ubud we stayed closer to the centre and we wanted to relax more. Also we rented a bike which makes things easier. Other small and easy-to-fix things were, no room service (making bed and changing towels), shower head support was broken, so we have to hold it at all times (this was an issue in other commomodations we stayed in Bali as well, maybe it's just how it is) and few rats outside in the garden.
Very nice family business. After few days in Ubud staying close to the center, we wanted a more relaxed and cultural experience. No regrets! They have four rooms available in their family backyard. Everything very private and nicely setup. Cosy garden and common area for breakfast. The room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff received us very well and information on the breakfast and bike to rent. The breakfast was nicely prepared by the owner's daughter, simple but good. I would recommend this place and come back in the next visit.

ItalyIn the garden there is a fountain. You can hear the water all night. If you are a light sleeper, you may have difficulties in sleeping. It is also a bit far from the centre.
The rooms are gorgeous and there is a kitchen. The garden is also very beautiful. The breakfast was good.

NetherlandsUnfortunately the airport pick-up was not there, so we had to arrange a taxi ourselves after contacting the hotel. However, they did apologise for this.
Family run, small-scale location with very friendly staff. They support local development and charity. Nice breakfast with plenty of local and western choice. Beautiful garden setting.

United StatesIf you're dreaming of an authentic Balinese experience away from the tourist crowds, Alam Pracetha is an absolute gem. This isn't just a hotel; it's a warm invitation into Kevin's family's world. Nestled in the heart of Ubud, the property offers a serene escape surrounded by lush greenery reminiscent of landscapes from my family's roots in Kerala, India. What sets Alam Pracetha apart is the genuine hospitality of Kevin and his family. Their home feels like an extension of their lives, and they graciously welcomed me into their space. I particularly cherished the daily meditation sessions in their tranquil outdoor area. The home-cooked meals were a culinary delight, featuring fresh produce straight from their garden. The taste of their jackfruit brought back fond memories of my mother. It's these small touches that make Alam Pracetha truly special. If you crave a countryside retreat immersed in Balinese culture, look no further than Alam Pracetha. It's a place where you'll feel truly at home.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing. We loved it all.
We really enjoyed our stay at Alam Pracetha Bali and got to experience the traditional Balinese feeling. The host, Kevin, and his family were super super kind and extremely helpful right from the start of our stay to the end which made us feel welcomed and at home. Kevin was helpful with any questions we had and he was also really nice to chat with. You can also rent motorbikes from him and get help with any activities you want to do in Ubud area. His son was super kind when we arrived to the place and automatically helped us with our luggages without us even asking, same when we left. The rooms were nice with comfortable beds and big bathrooms. The breakfast was super tasty (especially the pancake) and the girl serving the food every morning was really sweet and kind which always put a smile on our face. The overall atmosphere of the place was calming and relaxing, perfect for people who are looking for a peaceful place to stay outside of central Ubud. We also really liked and appreciated that the water was free and refillable in the shared kitchen.

United KingdomOnly slight negative is the location being far from ubud, however we didn’t see this as a negative because it was in a peaceful location
Really amazing homestay. The family who owned the homestay were the most friendliest people we’ve met on our trip abroad. They were very accommodating. We needed a laundry service to be done within 24 hours and they did that for us too. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. The breakfast was fruit, toast and omlette and coffee with milk. We loved our stay. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you want a peaceful stay.

NetherlandsIt is just a small thing, but it was unclear which days we could order dinner. It depends on the availability of the owners wife, which makes total sense, but maybe letting the guests know in the morning can help with clarity, for example with a little sign on the desk.
Really wonderful! Very kind owners, delicious food, very clean and beautiful room, a great and calm location! I will definitely come back here if I go to Ubud again.
