Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelarusIt's always hit or miss whenever I stay at a no-name hotel. In hindsight, I should have stayed at a well-known hotel, which there were plenty of between this hotel and the start line of the finish. At least those hotels have receptionists that work during the day. Since I arrived at this hotel earlier than the check-in time, there was nobody at the front desk. That meant that I was walking around Budapest with all of my bags for the entire day. I was very tempted just to go to another hotel and book a new room so that I can at least use their storage facilities.
I purposely chose this hotel for its location. It was within an easy walking distance from the start / finish line of the Budapest marathon. The location was great although there were plenty of hotels even closer to the start / finish line.

CroatiaParking in the garage costs 15 € per night which is a reasonable price. However, it was not clearly highlighted and communicated before the room reservation. And the garage is really narrow! Despite I liked our room, the property needs some refurbishment. There was no hairdryer in the room.
Good location near the city centre, just 3 metro stations away. There are caffe bars and shops near the hotel where you can have everything you need. The room had enough space and it is comfortable.

United KingdomThere were plenty of power sockets in the room, but every single one had a loose front plate and had to move furniture to get to the bedside ones. Very dusty with cobwebs when I moved bedside tables. No sound insulation; I was disturbed both days by noisy guests who let their children run around the hotel all evening and first thing in the mornings (06:30)!
Large, en-suite room. Comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent air-conditioning. Short walk to two separate tram lines, so easy to get around.

PolandWe contacted the hotel few days before our booking date to ask if we can check in. Receptionist said that it is fine to come after 1pm. When our parents arrived ar 1:30 they found out it is not possible to check in and they have to wait until 3pm. If we know it earlier they would schedule their arrival and day differently. Also for breakfast the bread was not fresh.

HungaryI stayed in the hotel already several times, it used to have a decent quality for a fair price. This time I was a bit disappointed, the room looked more poor, old-school (like used, not maintained properly), spiders in the corner, had the feeing that the bathroom was not so clean.
Location is great, close to metro lines, other public transport, shopping mall, cinema, connections to airport. Bed was comfy.

RussiaNo hairdryer, no kettle, no fridge in the room. The windows looked at another building, so people inside were very well seen :) The windows looked on the inside garden where people communicate a lot, so it was a bit noisy if the windows were open. If the windows were closed, it was okay. A bit aged building, furniture. The reception doesn't work at night, but the security helped me to check out at 5am in the morning. Also, I arrived very early before the check in time, and the staff refused to check me in until 3pm (which I expected as I read the reviews).
The hotel is close to Corvin metro station, also it was very close to the river (10 mins on foot), so the location was perfect for me. Aldi supermarket is 2 mins close to the hotel. There is a conditioner in the room which is very good when it is 33° outside. The room was large and clean. A garden view. A big bathroom (in fact there is a shower). There is an elevator. Very good price for this accommodation. Also, Corvin plaza is 10-15 mins on foot from the hotel. There is a luggage room available. There is a green area (a tiny garden) inside, which is perfectly fresh and shadowy for waiting for the check-in in the hot noon. There is a desk and a chair.
