Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hungary1. long pants for men in the dinner buffet is mandatory, and they really not let you in if you do not wear long pants. I have found this quite annoying, they gave pants for my husband, but it was way too small or big for him, so it left us with some bitter feelings at dinner time. 2. the hotel is not exactly kids friendly. it is rather a senior paradise, everything well arranged for an older generation. What you find in other 5 stars hotels, to make your stay with small kids better, here you don't have them. Kids pool is basic, and means only shallow water, small playhouse maybe for very little toddlers ok, but for my 3 years old son already boring. And it closes at 18.00 Moreover it was the first hotel for a long time, that after booking a suite they made me pay extra fee for the two kids. I could not add my kids in the booking process as then it wanted to arrange for me automatically two seperated rooms. So I added only two adults in the suite, and 90% of the hotels are normally fine with it, as I have small kids, 3 and 5 years old. But here they made me pay extra for the kids, just keep this in mind if you travel with kids. 3. gym is open 7.30 to 22.00.... If you want to go early to gym, then here you won't.
The hotel's wellness area is big and well designed, there are so many wellness options, many sunbeds and free towels. The food is ok, breakfast time you can ask for coffee from the waiter's, which is much better than their fast option from the machine. Welcome drinks and fruit plates are nice extra. Room design is modern and cozy.

Czech RepublicSmall sauna world, sauna ritual only in Hungarian, a foreigner has no idea what is going on...
Excellent breakfast, great dinner, hardworking staff. The service corresponds to five stars. The spa is excellent, the advantage is access only for hotel guests, there is a pleasant amount of other people in the large area, no rush.

SwitzerlandCharging a lot for cheap water at half board dinner. At least water should be included, preferably juices too. Separate blankets on the romantic round beds is weird and contradictory. Not being able to provide double blankets is not okay from a 5* hotel. Only the most expensive suites are worth branded toiletries. No hair conditioner and very little shower gel is provided. One needs to pay an extra €40 for the nicer kind of sun-beds, which results in nobody using them and hence 99% feeling like second class guests not being allowed to just lounge anywhere freely. Parking is not included in the price and is across the road fully outside. Not so convenient in rain.
Awesome saunas, great pools, delicious breakfast, nice and clean room. Laci bácsi, the sauna master creates an amazing atmosphere.

UkraineOn the day of departure, our key cards for two rooms did not work from 9.00, and we had to spend a lot of time getting into the rooms, we felt that this was a hint to leave quickly. and the lack of drinking water in the room, for a hotel of this price level this is abnormal

Austria- Some of the staff could be nicer. In a 5* hotel you dont really expect that in the bar when the waitress sees that you want to use you welcome drink coupon then with a bored face without even saying hello, or a yes, please just tells you then she can give champagne or beer. Not even an enjoy when handling the drinks. Its just weird in a 5* hotel. - In sauna world staff could have pay more attention at the guests, not to sit in swimming suit and in the relax are its just not nice that everybody is reserving the relaxing beds with their towels without being there for an hour... - Prices of the drinks are extreme. - Pools could be cleaner, in the thermal pool some white pieces are visibly all over in the water. My girlfriend even got some infections after the weekend.
More than enough pools, jacuzzis and the sauna world is amazing, there is everything what you could possibly need. We really liked that there are more activitys besides wellness, they have a decent bowling alley, biliárd etc. We had a nice walk near to the hotel there is a pretty lake which is nicely maintained, you can walk around it, enjoy the view. The food is amazing. So far the best I have ever in a swedish buffet context. Breakfast and dinner also.

AustriaOne member of the staff at the reception was a bit cold with us and with other customers. His behaviour was not acceptable. The number of vegan options could be higher (soja yogurt for breakfast, plant based proteins for main dishes, vegan cake option for dessert and breakfast). A plan of the hotel in each room is missing. The breakfast buffet was overwhelmed, maybe organising time slot for each floor or room could help to solve this issue.
The hotel is well decorated and the room was great.

HungaryEverything was fine. But it would be nice to have a kettle in a single room.
We will definitely come back I chose this hotel for a vacation for the second time. Excellent service. Friendly and professional staff. Instant check-in and check-out procedure. What is especially important is cleanliness everywhere: in the spa area, rooms, restaurant, massage rooms. An excellent outdoor swimming pool, into which you swim directly from the spa area, which is very comfortable in the cold season. You will also not be disappointed by the beauty salon and various types of massage. In the restaurant - a good selection of dishes for breakfast with freshly squeezed juices and dinners for every taste. Excellent wines, attentive and helpful waiters. There is a kettle and a coffee machine with capsules in the double rooms. Tea and coffee can be enjoyed on the balcony. In short, it is a great place for relaxation and wellness. Perhaps, at the moment, the best spa hotel in Hungary. If you arrive by train, you may ask for a transfer: it will take 3-4 minutes from the railway station in Sarvar.

AustriaGuests do not use saunas as they should be-many do not put towels under their feet. Also, some guests complained that we were naked inside of sauna. Finish sauna works only until 18:00.
Very nice spa, with a great number of pools and saunas. The hotel and spa were not crowded. Masages (thai and medical) were excelent. Welcome drink was also nice.

HungaryAlthough we turned off the heating, the room was slightly warm during the night. With the terrace door open, there is some noise from the street early in the morning. Not much traffic but still we had to close the door.
This was our fifth visit to the hotel, and we return at least once annually for a compelling reason. Despite having tried other wellness hotels throughout Hungary, Spirit undeniably stands out as the finest, particularly due to its outstanding wellness amenities, an exceptional variety of breakfast and dinner options, and the commendable professionalism exhibited by the staff.

United StatesThe only thing was the "mandatory" no clothes policy in the sauna area. Personally I couldn't care less about it, but my wife wasn't too impressed (especially with the old guy who works there walking around telling younger women that they had to take their clothes of).
Facilities were good, staff were professional and friendly, and the food was of a high quality (excellent wine list).
