We very much enjoyed our stay at Matild Palace which really exceeded our expectations, from the exceptional service, the friendly and attentive staff to the very delicious breakfast buffet and à la carte menu with a vast array of options (e.g. freshly prepared juices, delicious coffee, fresh pastries and bread, fresh fruits, pancakes, poached eggs, etc.). Furthermore, the restaurant Spago by Wolfgang Puck, as well as the rooftop bar Duchess are definitely a must-try. The latter offers stunning views of Budapest. Since it also was my birthday, we were surprised with complimentary champagne, a little chocolate cake and a birthday card. This really added to the positive experience we had at Matild Palace. The location of the hotel is great as the promenade along the Danube river is only a five-minute walk away from the hotel. The city center is also reachable within 15 minutes by foot. The proximity to the Central Market Hall, the Gellért Monument and the Gellért Thermal Bath/Spa & Hotel amongst other things contributes to the hotel’s convenient location. Overall, our stay was amazing and we would always choose to stay with Matild Palace again once we are planning our next trip to Budapest. Highly recommended!

The decor and the position was e collect very comfortable. The staff at breakfast could have been faster the service was a bit slow there . The driver who was supposed to pick me up couldn’t find me , had my mobile number and couldn’t phone me either , bad service for 140 euro fee.

It lives up to its luxury brand. Outstanding quality in everything. There are so many amazing things that made our stay memorable, automated curtains and toilet seat, spacious room extremely clean, TV that is integrated with a bronze coloured mirror, 3 seats of sofa, quite spa, luxuriously arranged hallways and then the best, Spago (Michelin 2023) breakfast! And the staff ever ready to help and support!

A luxury hotel indeed. Very impressive location. The rooms are fabulous. The shower area in the bathroom are your unique hamam experience. The Spago restaurant breakfast, the roof top view at the Dutches are stunning. 24 hour in-room dining is awesome. And the staffs are so polite and prompt, shout out to Ms. Ester at the Front desk. This palace is absolutely at the center of everything you want to see and experience in Budapest. So, go for it and enjoy!!

Every aspect, from A-Z, every single thing you could possibly come across was thought of beforehand and taken care of. To me it is important the hotel I'm staying breathes history: Matild palace integrates historical charm and modernity. The service surpassed that of any luxury hotel we have experienced, including those in Amsterdam and Paris. For instance. During check-out, I mentioned my disappointment that my sister could not visit the rooftop bar, 'The Duchess,' as she had retired early our last evening there - and before I could even finish my sentence, György offered us a private tour. If you plan on staying here do not forget to carve out some time for the spa, which is immaculate. We were particularly impressed by the facilities, which include not only a sauna but also a steam room and a Turkish hammam. Thank you for the wonderful stay. Selin Agdere

One morning the restaurant was very crowded (group of tourists) and also understaffed.

The room was superb from the linens to the view. The bathroom was just as impressive and the toiletries were top notch. The breakfast was also very good. We enjoyed our dinner at Spago. The location is great.

With the exception of one young tall gentleman, the front desk staff all seemed pretty sour. In addition, the 2 concierges I dealt with were not especially helpful. As an example, while the gentleman did show me the app for public transportation, when I asked further questions he told me to read it on the app. This occurred while there were no other people waiting for assistance so time was not a factor.

The property and our room were lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable. It’s a very good location, close to tram, metro, and the river.

We stayed in the Elizabeth Bridge suit for four nights. We were fully satisfied with the property in all respects, great location, historic building, tatseful decor, spacious room, friendly staff and very good breakfast. Rooftop bar has very good views.

The rooftop bar not opening on Sunday.

We attempted to access the Rooftop bar on the second evening as it was closed on our first evening. When we got into the lift to access the bar for some reason it took us to the ground floor. A member of staff asked us where we were going and we explained we were attempting to access the rooftop bar, she had another two guest with her at the time and told us to come out of the lift and asked us if we were hotel guests which we stated we where. She then explained to the other two guest to get in the lift and she explained they could go to the rooftop bar. She then said follow me me and walked away from the lift. She then stopped to tell us we have to speak with her to arrange access. We had not been advised of this at any point when booking in. At this point we both felt embarrased for the way she had spoken to us in front of other guest and decided to go and have a drink and dinner outside the hotel rather than at the hotel.

Lovely hotel and perfect location to explore the city.
