Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. They also helped in suggesting places to visit as well as acquiring the tickets and helping us navigate the public transit system. The food was also amazing. The restaurant staff was excellent and Adam in particular made our trip to Budapest the best. We will definitely be staying at the Maison again.

RomaniaThe airconditioning in the room was not cooling and with the very warm weather during our visit it resulted in an equally warm bedroom. I guess this wouldn't really be a problem on cooler days.
Although the layout of the hotel is a bit strange (effectively 2 separate locations near each other) - the rooms are so beautiful and comfortable that you forget about this quirk. The staff is absolutely amazing and the breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect for if you want to visit the historic area.

The room was spatious, the airconditioning was fantastic and the beds super comfortable. Situated in the heart of the old center, it's a fantastic option if you only have a few days to see the basic attractions. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

What a lovely place this is, comfortable, very clean, location was excellent, we walked to Fishermans Bastion and the church, in a matter if minuets. The staff were outstanding, definitely went the extra mile to help with anything you needed, I can't praise them enough. The food was delicious too, we had Breakfast ( great choice of options ) and after a morning at Buda Castle ( again easy walk ) we returned to Maison bistro fot lunch, which didn't disappoint, very delicious. All in all a fantastic stay and will definitely return when in Budapest again.

First of all, because of the location - this, in my opinion, is the heart of Budapest. And there are also great breakfasts here! I really enjoyed walking around this area from early morning before breakfast. I plan to come back again.

United StatesThe jacuzzi tub in our room was very nice, but lacked bath products. The toilet was almost in the bedroom and lacked privacy. We ordered cappuccinos in the morning but I would have liked easier access to coffee.
We loved being in the beautiful area on top of the hill within easy walking distance of Buda Castle and the Fisherman’s Bastion. Breakfast was great, in a charming dining room and went conveniently until 11:00. The staff members were kind and efficient and helped us book a Danube cruise and a train. Wonderful refuge!
