Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomAlthough the food & drink served at the hotel was very good, you can find better value for money elsewhere in Budapest.
Beautiful hotel with staff who were very kind and personable. The location is excellent for visiting Budapest (the 4/6 tram stops opposite the hotel, and the M1 metro is a 3-4 minute walk away). The brasserie serves very tasty food (the kacsacomb was particularly nice). The spa is beautiful and was surprisingly quiet for much of our stay.

IrelandDidn't realize at time of booking that the spa wasn't included. Could have done with firmer pillows. Rooms are dated, could do with updating. Not sure it's worth the price given the 5 star rating.
Lovely staff and friendly staff. Really enjoyed the spa, it was great after a long day traveling. Bed linen was so nice and cozy! Lobby was very Grand! Breakfast was also amazing.

The switch for the light was behind my head so I was shutting off or turning on the lights while moving my head in bed.

United StatesFirst, the location, both in terms from distance to the main sites and nestled in a rundown neighborhood with cheap pizza and kebab places to eat. Second, most of the rooms face very large indoor courtyards. This means the rooms are very quiet, but also do not get very much natural light. On the other hand, the window opened fully, which was very nice. The restaurant was good, but they never had any daily specials. The room was certainly not a five star hotel. There were very few outlets and the carpeting was worn and ripped in one area.
The spa and pool were very nice.

The hotel is exceptional, the pictures on the website really don't do it justice. The whole process, from booking in to eating in the restaurant or drinking in the bar, was made so easy by every member of staff, of who there are many. They are so welcoming and very polite and courteous and very willing to help in any way they could. The actual building is amazing and the spa and pool area is just made for relaxing. If I ever return to Budapest there is only one place I will stay and this is it.

The rooms were big and beds really comfortable. Most on internal courtyards which was very quiet Lovely bathroom. Spa downstairs is worth paying extra for. Breakfast was the best we had on our trip. Bar staff were exceptional.
