Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing much. Perhaps our room (9) was a bit dark with 2 small windows but it was spacious and well appointed
Location, the courtyard where we ate breakfast & dinner, the terrace in front of our room overlooking courtyard(we were in annex across from main hotel), the staff, the dinners and choice on menu, the complementary items in the minibar etc. Beautiful building

What a glorious boutique hotel in a truely hidden gem. Elegant and epitomising quiet luxury, not only are the rooms comfortable but also stylish. The venue as a whole has the same aesthetic. Breakfast in the terrace is delightful and the choices are superb with fresh herbs from the garden. Yes, bathrooms are small but I found it still well laid out and functional. The minibar and coffee machine are a welcome extra and the bed was super comfortable. Service was exceptional, and I highly suggest following recommendations from the staff; they know the island and the vistas so well. I actually found parking very easy and had no issues getting to the hotel though Vis is a historical city so expect cobble stone pathways. It’s part of the charm!

United KingdomGreat location, owner and staff really welcoming and helpful. Lovely restaurant in a courtyard, delicious food. We also had a really nice seating area outside our room over looking the courtyard. The owner organised a scooter for us which was dropped off at the hotel, perfect for exploring the island. We were there at the beginning of the season which is very quiet and great to doing lots of walking.

GermanyThe wonderful hotel is located in a small and beautiful ally only a few strides away from the boardwalk. It is stylishly furnished, very clean, cozy and yet elegant. We felt immediately comfortable as soon as we entered. We enjoyed our breakfast on the lovely and romantic terrace. There are plenty of choices. I want to point out the owners especially. They are affectioned, courteous and run their establishment with passion. The San Giorgio has lots of charm and is a marvelous place to spent a romantic vacation on Vis. We certainly would like to come back. Roman & Mascha

United StatesIn the room I stayed in, water from the shower leaked under a split tile in the bathroom, and the toilet ran requiring me to stop that every time. The building is hundreds of years old, however, and very nice.
The owners gave helpful directions and recommendations of what to do on the island, prepared an elaborate breakfast, and even invited me to join them and others for wine one evening, which was special.

This was by far our most charming and beautiful accommodation we have ever stayed in!! Loved the location- our favourite part of Vis Town (near some great restaurants, supermarkets and bars)! About a 20 min walk to the port - gorgeous views and little shops and bars along the walk! The hosts are extremely charming and helpful - go out of their way to make your stay as awesome as they can! The buffet breakfast was superb and we definitely enjoyed a mimosa with breakfast to celebrate being on the gorgeous island of Vis!!! The hotel’s restaurant was closed for the season unfortunately but at least we had our breakfast in the charming and cute courtyard area! Everything is very clean and bed is very comfortable!! Absolutely recommend staying here if you are ever fortunate enough to stay on the peaceful and gorgeous Vis Island! We will always remember our magical 3 days on Vis Island at this extra special hotel!!!

United States-
The rooms are absolutely beautiful. They’re extremely spacious and very clean. The location is also stunning. Right in the heart of the old town of beautiful Vis. But the staff is the best part of this hotel. Everyone from the owner to the staff at the front desk to the cleaning staff are all incredibly kind, caring, and helpful. We stayed here for the week of our wedding and were so happy that we did. They helped us with absolutely everything and were just as excited as we were! It was perfect and we will be back :)

United StatesThe only thing that was a small issue was the temperature of the rooms since the AC didn't go that low. But overall, not a big problem since the rooms were spacious and we had windows that could be left open at night if needed.
Hotel San Giorgio was a joy to stay at! All of the staff were fantastic and lovely to interact with. They all spoke perfect English as well and made sure we had everything we needed including taxis and recommendations for Vis. The breakfast was also delicious and relaxing. More than anything, the space the hotel and restaurant occupies as well as that part of Vis is just gorgeous. We loved staying here!
