Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe lunch / dinner prices were very expensive. We had lunch once and never used the snack bar again. The dinner prices were very dear. We looked at the menu and went elsewhere that night. The superior room with sea view we got was smaller than we expected. The balcony was very bare with no privacy between rooms. Also the balcony barriers were very dirty and were never cleaned down. For a 5 star everything should be very clean.
Overall we really liked the hotel. The facilities and breakfast were excellent. Loved swimming in the sea.

United KingdomThough there were lots of staff at breakfast, at busy times it could be hard to get their attention for tea/ coffee - it would be good to add a self-service hot drinks station for those who want it to relieve the pressure - we've seen this at other hotels and it works well. Can still have table service for those who prefer it.
We got a sea view room which is really worth it as the views are just gorgeous. It's a spacious room, bathroom is maybe a little dated but has all the facilities you need. I would say the location is fantastic just a 10 minute walk into the Old City. There are hotels in the Old City but to get the same facilities (pool, access to the sea) you would be paying more than double. Old City is also so busy and hectic. This location was really calm and it was nice to get away after a day's hectic sightseeing. The best thing was access to the sea - there is no beach but you get into the sea via some steps and it's absolutely gorgeous - so clear and clean. There are also places you can jump or dive in from high up on the rocks (we weren't brave enough but it looked amazing). There's also an indoor pool and gym and free classes like yoga every morning which I tried, on the pool deck overlooking the sea - so nice. The breakfast is fantastic, so much choice and live piano player every morning was a really nice touch! I have to commend the fish restaurant which was exceptional - we never usually eat at the hotel as we like to go out - but the setting was magical right on the sea, the food was out of this world and the service fantastic. The chef went out of his way to adapt the menu to our requirements as we don't actually eat shellfish and he devised an amazing menu for us. It's pricey but so are all the nice restaurants in Dubrovnik! If you're happy to splash out then don't be put off by the fact it's a hotel restaurant - it really was exceptional and a fantastic experience. Tip - we didn't realise Uber operates in Dubrovnik - it's much cheaper than the taxis- less than half the price. For example Uber to the airport was 27EUR but taxi from hotel 50-60EUR.

United KingdomRooms need renovating. They’re clean and pleasant enough but bathrooms are outdated and need walk in showers. Balconies are large and could hold loungers but outdoor furniture is basic and could do with replacing. Pool area is quite small and cramped.
Location was perfect. Views were incredible, especially in the sea view rooms. Lobby area and spa were lovely and staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good.

United KingdomThe hotel is slightly tired. Needs redecorating and resorting in parts. It also has a musty/drain smell in parts. The staff that welcome you and help with suitcases were either none existent or really unhelpful - totally different to the rest of the hotel who were amazing and really friendly.
Fantastic location, great facilities, brilliant staff (mostly) and a all round amazing hotel that we can’t wait to go back to.

AustraliaNothing at all
Absolutely everything. Cannot recommend this hotel more highly. This was the most amazing experience and would highly recommend. Firstly. The hotel itself is simply incredible. It has EVERYTHING you would want in a hotel. It’s got a private beach, outdoor pool, spa wellness centre, and more…. The hotel room was also incredible I wouldn’t mess around and would definitely get the ocean view!!!! The view of the ocean is priceless and the sunset at morning and night is something I won’t forget. Secondly the service was absolutely amazing. The staff in every area of the hotel give faultless service. From the pool, to the buffet, it’s a huge resort and there’s many staff keeping it running, they do an outstanding job. The money is well spent by going here. My time in Dubrovnik was made by going to the hotel.

United StatesMy only complaint was the tv listing said 15 channels in English but only 1 news channel worked. But this is small and nobody needs to be watching tv in Dubrovnik lol
