Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel location isn't brilliant, it's about two/three miles out of town and feels like quite a run down residential area. Curtains are not fully blackout for those who like a dark room at night and there were no plug sockets near the desk which seemed odd. That was just my room though and my friends' room was different. Would have appreciated a small shop on site to buy basics like water, milk etc. The water in the outdoor pool was freezing!
Amazing spa and heated indoor pool, decent gym, good bathroom in room and very comfy bed. Also my room very quiet, which I appreciated. The beach club is small but really nice and very organised in terms of getting sunbeds etc. Easy to get around the locality using Uber, and Split and the surrounding area is really beautiful. The hotel has a regular shuttle bus into Split.

United StatesOn arrival the lobby had an overwhelming odor of strong perfumes. It seemed the hotel was masking something that may have occurred earlier. Most of the staff were fine or even good... a few seemed a bit... clueless. Like taking the elevator to the lobby level and expecting to then get off and finding two members of the staff rushing to enter first. Obviously not going to work. They paused as they were stepping in and then made room for folks to leave first but it was a bit awkward and, to be honest, surprising.
Great amenities such as the spa and a vast breakfast, an outdoor pool -- though I went to the beach instead. The design of the rooms are as you'd expect, thoughtful, unobtrusive, very good beds, etc. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

AustraliaWe went to The Door which wasn’t too crowded and the staff were too busy to serve us or allow us to pay. When we wanted to pay, after we waited and waited, they had no idea what we had, when we commented we could of just walked out without paying we were lectured about “ how we would be found” and made us feel like we were trying not to pay. When we had been waiting ages for the staff to get their act together so we could pay. Lucky we are honest people!

NetherlandsThe beach was a bit far from the room (takes around 10 minutes to reach). And it was crowded.
We booked premium suite. It was luxurious, very good view of the sea, very clean, ready on time. All furnitures were well thought, bathtub, shower was luxurious. There were 2 toilets, one shower and a bathtub, dual basin system. Room service was also amazing. We ordered lunch at room, which arrived quickly amd hot. It had indoor and outdoor swimming pool, good buffet dining with reasonable price. Breakfast was so good and they also had a separate decorated kid station from where our kid took breakfast by his own. The staff on reception helped with our car parking and luggage, even managed space for my prayer after checkout. Before checkin as we reached early, they let us use all facilities, even after checkout.

United KingdomThe location is not great. We were informed that there was building work happening in the area but we were shocked at the extent of this. Also we were further away from the town centre than we had expected and had to get buses into town. Apparently there is a free hotel shuttle but I only found out about this on our final day when I read an online review. My husband had asked about the best way to get into town at the beginning of our week and was told to get taxis at no point was he told about the shuttle. The cleaning service was also very poor. Our room wasn't ready at check in and when we went up it was still not clean. Throughout our whole week there we had a variety of issues with housekeeping and had to keep contacting reception about these. Not really something we felt we should need to do.
Breakfast service was fantastic. Loads of choice and very efficiently run. The pool was lovely and the pool staff were friendly.

JapanThe property was quite far away from the old town centre or port, so you had to get a taxi or drive there, not a walk. But easy enough to book via Uber etc.
Amazing spa, with really lovely sauna, steam room, plunge pool, pools, etc. Great beach, both the side with the private sun loungers, and the side with the free sun loungers. Service was wonderful, restaurants were great. And the music in the evening was amazing, making dinners and evening drinks magical.
