Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaCons: Air conditioners are very cheap and therefore VERY VERY NOISY - regardless of the air conditioner settings. It's hard to sleep with the air conditioner on. This is definitely a problem. In addition, there are no mosquito nets and even if you want to sleep with an open window, a different problem arises...
In general, Croatia is not a country - where you go to the beach. There is no sand and shoes are required for entering the sea or walking along the shore. Stones - everywhere. BUT if you are interested in traveling short distances and visiting incredibly beautiful small coastal towns and villages as well as inland - Croatia is wonderful. Venice is about 3 hours away by car and is a wonderful day trip destination. Pros: The hotel is in an excellent location for the so-called beach - as well as a starting point for excursions inland and along the coast of the peninsula. Hygiene is at a very high level. The food is extremely varied and excellently prepared - both breakfast and dinner. The beds and pillows are comfortable.

SloveniaI loved the food. There were many different options each day, so there was never a worry that you couldn’t find something to eat. The faculty and staff was very nice and professional, kept the place very clean and comfortable. The pool and the outside area was also very nice.

CroatiaRoom doors didn't close properly, so there was light coming from the hallway, and it was quite noisy because of the same reason, shower was quite small so if you moved in it you would just turn it to hot/cold side or just shut it off completely, when coming back from outside the room smelled really bad(don't know if it's from the AC because it was being used before we left), AC remote was hard to operate(clicking on mode and selecting cool didn't work but just fan mode did, and then after leaving the AC on cool mode off it just turned itself on after 3 minutes)
The hotel looked friendly and clean, the bed was comfortable, the food choices were good, and there were plenty of options and the pool was nice.

UkraineThe rooms are somewhat lacking; I cannot say they were dirty as the cleaning was regular, yet there were permanent dirty spots on the floor carpet, it wasn't nice. The balcony was okay, but the room itself is not spacious at all, and if you need to do some work on a laptop, you need to go to an armchair in the hall - the table they have is tiny. No kettle. And while the food was really good, I was disappointed with the tea they offered - the cheapest Franck teas from Kaufland; like, I understand that Croatians do not generally drink tea, and so they do not care, but that shit is hardly drinkable, and I expected more for the big money I paid.
The food is absolutely top, five-star level. We got breakfast and dinner included from the start, and that was the right decision. The animators are great, my daughter spent all the time she could at the kids club, she liked it a lot there. Pool is okay. The sea is close, and the path to the beach is comfortable, with a lot of shadow. Although they say you cannot book a place at the parking lot, it is not a problem, as the space is ample, and you can also park under the trees (which I did all the time).

ItalyThe rooms are definitely dated, especially the bathrooms. The view from the pool to the hotel building is unfortunate and also the fact that there is no bar service at the pool, despite the high beverage prices. There are also inconsistencies in the pricing of the drinks between the restaurant and the bar. Overall the price we paid is too high for the overall quality of the accommodation, even if August.
Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant and lobby area are pleasantly renovated and the pool chairs and towels are nice. Walking distance to the beach is not too bad. Restaurant provides a varied offer of adequate quality food.

CroatiaDespite the overall positive experience, there were a couple of areas where I felt the hotel could improve. The timing of the dinner (from 19:00) posed a bit of an inconvenience. An earlier start time of 18:00 might be more suitable for guests planning evening activities. The beach nearby, while close and convenient, was not to my personal liking due to the abundance of rocks. While this may not be an issue for everyone, it did affect my experience slightly. Lastly, the room, though it was generally pleasant, had some inconsistencies, particularly in the bathroom. While the rest of the hotel felt modern and upscale, the bathroom appeared a bit outdated and didn't quite match the high standards set by other parts of the hotel. Despite these minor issues, Arena Hotel Holiday in Medulin remains a fantastic choice, particularly for those who value an expansive dining experience and proximity to the sea. I believe these areas of improvement don't overshadow the many positive aspects, and I wholeheartedly recommend the hotel to other travelers.
My visit to Arena Hotel Holiday in Medulin was filled with pleasant surprises and quality experiences. From the moment I arrived, the hotel's modern aesthetic caught my attention, exuding a blend of style and elegance. The dining experience was truly remarkable, with both breakfast and dinner offering an extensive variety of options that I had never encountered in any other hotel. The inclusion of ice cream in the dinner buffet was an unexpected delight, showcasing the hotel's unique approach to pleasing its guests. I also appreciated the well-maintained exterior, which perfectly complemented the location near the beach. Though I wasn't fond of the nearby rocky beach, the hotel's amazing pool area more than made up for it. The pool was filled with seawater and provided ample space for sunbathing and relaxing, creating a vacationer's paradise. The professionalism of the hotel staff stood out as well. They were highly attentive, accommodating, and flawless in their service, which certainly contributed to making my stay enjoyable and stress-free. Above all, the overall atmosphere, amenities, and experience at Arena Hotel Holiday resonated with my expectations, making it one of my favorite hotels. I was satisfied with the value for money and am already looking forward to a return visit in the future.
