Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandShower floor was looking bit dirty, but rinsing was enough to get it clean so I didn't bothered the staff with it. I like to eat heavier at the morning so I found the assortment of warm food too small.
The staff was very friendly and warm and made us felt welcome. Owner spoke german and some english and she was very easy to be with. Owner gave us two room options to choose from which was nice. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Mini fridge was useful for keeping drinks cool. AC was working fine and kept the room cool even though weather outside was very hot +30-37°C (86-98°F). Breakfast was good as there was quality incrediences and food was tasty. There was big assortment of different jams for bread.

United StatesThis place should really be classed as a guesthouse or b&b rather than a hotel. I filtered my search for hotels only, so the place was not as we expected (24 hr reception for instance, since we were coming in late). Cash payment was required. Noise from guests on adjoining balcony and planes overhead (on the flight path for Dubrovnik airport).
The hostess, Zora, was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Everything was clean.

PolandVery hospitable Zora. Lovely lady, extremely nice and friendly. A pleasant room in a purple color had a positive effect on our well-being. The bed is comfortable. The room was cleaned daily. Air conditioning is working efficiently. Functional bathroom, equipped with towels, cleaning products and a hair dryer. Delicious breakfasts, a huge selection. You can eat whatever you want. Hot, cold, sweet and savory dishes - everyone will find something for themselves. Various drinks - coffee, tea (several types), water, juices, kefir and milk. A beautiful coffee service absolutely stole my heart :-) Our plane was departing in the late afternoon, there was no problem to leave our luggage and go to enjoy the last hours in a beautiful place. Cavtat is a charming little town. Close to every place, you will reach your destination in minutes. The town is situated on a hill, which may be problematic for some people. I recommend Zora's house with full responsibility. Thank you Zora for everything. We will come back to you for sure.

United KingdomClose to main centre but up a big hill. - you can get a taxi but have to pay the minimum charge which is €10 - so expensive if you cannot walk for the short distance involved (less than a minute in a cab)
Very clean and good breakfast

PolandMrs Zora and her husband are wonderful hosts who are ready to fullfill all your request. Also are happy to answer all your questions , even loads like in my case. Always with lovely sunny smile :) . The hotel is very clean, you feel like there like at home! Spacious with tarases, place for barbecuing etc. The cherry on top is that they are fun people ready to chat and hanging around with you in the garden ( if it is what you want). If you want to get an organic local experience without filters, hostel Haus am Mer is the right choice! The real is good! These lovely couple speaks croatian, german and english so there is no problem with comunication. I recomeend it for 100000 procent!

PolandThe hotel is not a modern one, but very cosy, clean and comfortable. The big advantage is the location- close to the center, restaunants, coast and also close to the airport. The owners are very helpfull and friendly, try to do their best to make your holiday great. Very tasty and varied berakfasts, every morning something else. Totally recommend if you want to get rest in a peace and quiet with a friendly atmosphere.

United KingdomMy mum and I booked this as a last minute trip after our holiday elsewhere was cancelled, and we will 100% return to stay again. I requested an earlier check in as our flight arrived in Dubrovnik around 10am and this was accommodated with no problems, Zora introduced herself as the host and was extremely warm and welcoming and showed us around her beautiful property. The hotel was very clean and well kept and all staff we came across were so kind, nothing was too much of an ask and Zora was available to answer any queries we had. The facilities in the room were perfect and the bed was extremely comfortable, it was noted when we booked that the rooms were soundproof and we wondered why that would be necessary. Cavtat is very close to Dubrovnik airport, so there are regular flights that fly over the hotel, we did not hear one flight whilst we were in our room it is completely soundproofed as stated. My mum and I will definitely return and stay with Zora again, it felt like a very safe space for us.

SpainZori was an excellent host. She's very kind and polite, and her commitment to the hotel was extraordinary. Regarding the breakfast, which was very good, we want to remark on the homemade apple cake, which is a delight. Every room has a unique decoration, and the cleaning was formidable. Above all, the most valuable part of her and her husband is how welcoming, warm and generous they are. We felt at home and we are so grateful that we want to come again as soon as possible.
