Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineExcellent location - a couple of stops from the Old Town. Its own atmosphere, cafes, pizzerias, supermarkets - everything is nearby. 15-20 minutes to the bus station. Spacious room with sink, refrigerator, air conditioning, table, chairs. On the balcony there is a table and two chairs, a drying rack, the view is amazing, the birds are singing, there is greenery. A wonderful host, he met us and told us everything. In the courtyard there is a terrace with a swing, tables, chairs. Very comfortable. Tea, coffee, sweets, microwave included.

ItalyJust note that the location of the guesthouse is a bit uphill and involves taking steps. It's 20 minutes walk from the bus station, 30 minutes from the old town.
The room is clean and comfortable. There's even a balcony! There's a wash basin inside the room and that's very convenient. The shared bathroom is very clean. In the hallway you can find a microwave, an electric kettle and a toaster, tea bags and instant coffee, cups and silverwares. Well-equipped guesthouse. The place is run by a nice family.

PolandIt's a bit more far to the old town than I thought - about 25/30 minutes walking and it can be a bit scary to walk back alone at night, as some streets are dark and empty.
The room was very clean and had the AC. Bathrooms were shared but in the room there was a sink, that was very helpful. There was a kettle in the shared parts as well as cups and tea bags and coffee :)

SingaporeSound proofing not the most ideal but managed to sleep throughout the nights as the neighbourhood is generally quiet and the other guests were considerate.
Clean, spacious, flexible check-in and check out. Chose this apartment as it was in between old town and bus terminal, about 20 minutes walk from one another. Convenient to have a sink and mirror in the room. There were 2 shared toilets shared among 4 rooms in total, but there was no clash during my stay when used in the beginning and end of day. Shared toilet was also clean and toilet rolls replaced very timely. Went during the transition from winter to spring and the heater and aircon unit worked very well. Hot water was present all the time as the owner left the water heater turned on 24/7. Would recommend this apartment.

North MacedoniaThey use awful and agresive air freshener in the room - so much that you can not ventilate it. Rooms really stink on that awful artificial (un)freshener.
Very kind and hospitable hosts. Rooms are equiped with everything you need. Location is good - away enough from the city rush. Little bit complicate for parking so communicate with the owner if you need it. They will probably arrange. Clean and tidy.

PolandThis is the best place I've ever been to! Good location, quiet area, shop and bakery 2 minutes away. Shared bathroom clean and regularly cleaned. Room clean and comfortable. Huge plus for the washbasin in the room, it made it easier and you don't have to occupy the main bathroom. From the room you exit to a large terrace surrounded by plants and fruit. The host and his family very friendly and helpful, there was no problem to leave your luggage after checking out. I'm very satisfied with my stay

South KoreaFor reference, I stayed in a single room for 6 nights. Cleanliness (5/5): The highlight of this place was the cleanliness of the room and bedding sheets. Even though the bathroom was shared, it was consistently clean. Facilities (4/5): Since this place is situated in one of Dubrovnik's old buildings, it lacks conveniences like an elevator. However, I was thankful that the host helped with carrying luggage. Staff (5/5): The host, a lovely lady, was exceptionally kind. She was considerate and made sure that guests had a comfortable stay. Location (4/5): It's located midway between the main bus station and the Old Town. It takes about a 25-minute walk to reach the main bus station and approximately 35 minutes to get to the Old Town. If you plan to stay for a short period (less than 3 days), I would recommend choosing accommodation near the bus station. For longer stays, a place like Guest House Bradas, situated in the middle, is a good choice. I wouldn't recommend staying in Old Town as the accommodations there tend to have poor facilities or high prices.
