Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe beds are quite hard and thicker curtains would be nice, it doesn't feel very private when you can see through the curtains.
We loved staying here. Do yourself a favor and don't try to skimp on accomodations in Dubrovnik. There are a lot of scammers and bad deals out there. We paid a little more than we wanted and were rewarded for it. This place is spacious and bright and ultimately much better value for money than cheaper accommodations. The owners were lovely, the garden is amazing, and the apartment is gorgeous. All appliances work well and it even includes a microwave for quick reheating. We loved this place and would absolutely stay here again if we come back. Eating out in Dubrovnik is expensive so this great kitchen actually saved us money. I can't recommend this place enough.

United KingdomIt's not a dislike so much as a 'be aware'.The apartment is a 10-minute walk down to the Pile Gate, but it's a 20 minute climb back up steps. I hadn't realised that everywhere in Dubrovnik is small alley pathways and steps. We, therefore, planned for our day and stayed out, which suited us well, but if you like to return to your accommodation before going out in the evening, be prepared for the uphill back, or get an Uber. You don't nip back to pick up the cardigan when it turns chilly, for example.
Firstly, we had a very warm welcome from the owner, who showed us round. The apartment is suited to a group of 4, so we had plenty of room. It was home from home as far as equipment goes, and everything was clean and well appointed. We were very comfortable for the 4 nights we stayed. You will need a few groceries if you self-cater.

SingaporeHave to climb 2 flights of steps.. but it is actually worth the trade off for such a lovely place. The property can also improve if there is night curtains.
2BR apartments for 4 pax are very spacious with living and dining rooms, kitchen and balcony. Host- Ivo- is very friendly and helpful. The garden with various fruit trees, flowers etc… add to the beauty of this place.

IrelandEverything was lovely - another bathroom would have been great but we knew beforehand that the property had one.
Excellent property much nicer even than the pics suggest. Lovely residential neighbourhood. Lovely view. Spotless. Beautiful garden. 10-12 min walk downhill to old town. Ivo was very helpful and friendly and gave us lots of tips! Ivo brought us to and from airport for a good price - this was very convenient.

Czech RepublicWifi was a bit slow and intermittent, but we live in Prague and our Czech data plan was a good backup.
Location was great for exploring old town, beaches nearby, both about a 15 minute walk away (but be aware, as with most beaches in Dubrovnik, and getting to old town, it is quite a way down and back up, lots of stairs). Plenty of room and washer in the bathroom was a good plus for leaving with clean clothes. Hosts very freindly, parking is a big plus as parking in Dubrovnik isn't easy to find.

Ivo collected us from our ferry at the port and greeted us warmly. When we got back to the accommodation which was only 10 minutes away he explained everything to us and arranged a boat trip and told us to contact him for anything else. The apartment was really spacious and clean. Fully air conned and all kitchen appliances including dishwasher. There was also a hairdryer and iron if needed. The garden was beautiful with turtles. The hosts kept our bags for us on the last day after check out while we visited Lokrum Island and were so kind and helpful. We will definitely come back and stay there again. Thank you Ivo and family for your kindness and care.

BulgariaEverything was considered to the tiniest detail. Nothing.
The location is perfect. The hosts are very nice and friendly. There was a multitude of fliers and info guides left for us. On their recommendation, we did several day tours by car, including a wine tour in Potomje in the Matushko Winery. Dingac is a very flavourful wine that we brought home for presents and a few for us. There is a parking place in a private yard where the car could be parked. The apartment is really excellent: spacious, clean, and comfortable. The terrace is perfect for leisure time or casual drinking :) The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly want. You can cook all your meals there if you want. However, each one of the restaurants the hosts advised us about was the winner.

United StatesWe needed directions to the grocery store and how to get to the fort as well as the recommended restaurnts. It would have been great to have a drawn map. We did eventually figure it all out. Cards with the address would also be nice..as some needed for cab service and was not easy with the language barrier.
This was our favorite place in our 31 days of travel! The location was perfect! We were treated like family. The accommodations were beyond our wildest dreams. 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms with private LR, DR and kitchen. Loved having a washer and the clothes dried so quickly on the covered porch. We walked everywhere and did it all! We are senior women. This is the place you do not want to look any further!

United KingdomAs everybody else has mentioned, the Wi-Fi is atrocious which seems like a silly thing to moan about, but actually it's a bit of a pain if you want to watch something or you're running out of data or if you've got teenagers like I have so that was a big frustration! Kitchen was fully equipped with everything. Not that we needed much and the balcony is a really good size with pretty views and you could even see the sea. In hindsight, I wish we stayed away from the old town as it's just a massive tourist trap but that comment is nothing to do with the accommodation 🤷♀️
Was a nice stay, the garden is beautiful and lots of areas to sit, lie down, eat, have a coffee etc. and cute tortoises hanging out with you. The owners live in the basement below, they are very sweet. Downside as you can see from the pictures, the apartment is very dated and would benefit from a bit of an overhaul to modernise the feel of it but functionality is absolutely fine and it's a big space and very clean! I've booked a different apartment initially, but cancelled it and chose this one instead as it was closer to the old town. It's a decent walk down there only 10 minutes but coming back up....there are a LOT of steps, so if you're not very mobile oh it's really hot, it's not the most enjoyable if you do it a couple of times a day!! but if you like getting his steps in, it's not a problem 😁 In hindsight, I wish we stayed away from the old town as it's just a massive tourist trap but that comment is nothing to do with the accommodation 🤷♀️
