Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing! I read comments about the steps but we both have average fitness and these were absolutely fine (the whole of Dubrovnik is stairs!)
Lovely flat only a 3-4 minute walk from the old town. Absolutely fantastic view and had all of the amenities you need. Valika provided us with coffee, washing products, sun cream, umbrellas etc! And was even kind enough to drop us off at the port on her way to work, she made sure everything was great and was a fantastic host!

United KingdomWasn't a problem for us as we are two fit thirty-somethings but this flat would be difficult to get to for anyone with mobility problems. There is a zig zag path that is much easier than the more direct stairs (Valika showed us it on the map, thank you!) but that could still be a struggle if you do it in the afternoon heat, so I wouldn't recommend this flat if you have issues walking up hills. However, if you are fine walking up hills, it's great and the height gives you that amazing view!
We had an amazing time at Studio Ogresta! The view from the balcony was breathtaking, we really enjoyed morning coffee and evening wine on the balcony watching the boats come in. The pictures don't actually do it justice! The apartment was comfortable and has everything two people would need for a stay. The kitchen was very well equipped, there are supermarkets close by, the flat was very clean and the big jacuzzi bath was wonderful to relax in after a long day of walking up Dubrovnik's many hills and stairs. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the old town, although there are restaurants and shops a little closer. It was a really good location, and the walk into town is quite nice with a lot of shaded bits from people's gardens and lovely trees overhanging the stairs and paths. Valika is a fantastic host. She greeted us on arrival and gave us a map of all her recommendations, and was available to answer any questions we had. We had a problem with the hot water - I messaged her in the morning and it was fixed by the time we got home from our day out. A lovely lady!

Swedenbedding not sufficient for the size of the bed, but I found extra sheet in a drawer. Not a complaint as it was know, but Road access is very restrictive (narrow, winding, steep), thus ensure taxi driver knows how to get close to apartment, so that you avoid dragging luggage up the stairs. Windows in the main area (shared living and bedroom) had closed off shutters, thus unable to have outside view and light come into the room. Would have loved to enjoy the view from inside.
beautiful view of old town and surrounding area from the balcony. Host was available from initial booking and throughout our stay. There is a convenience store some few hundred meters down the stairs, which is right opposite the cable car. Host suggested stairs to downtown which had less shade but as it was not so steep, it was easier to use.

United KingdomWe are an elderly couple and the property is half way up a hill and the only real access is by stairs. It was difficult for the taxi to get us there as access by road is poor
It is a lovely property with an excellent view of Dubrovnik from the balcony. It is convenient for the town and all its facilities

EstoniaDue to the hilly geography of Dubrovnik, there are naturally quite many stairs you need to walk between the apartment and the old town but there is an easier way to reach the apartment with the minimum stairs and it’s not that bad. I would say it’s still worth staying on the hill than in the old town if you want a peaceful night time to sleep.
The apartment is located within a walkable distance (approx. 10 min away) from the old town and very quiet. Both the kitten and bathroom were well equipped and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in🥰 It also offers an amazing view from the balcony. Valika was extremely kind and super responsive to any questions or inquiries. I can 100% recommend the apartment to anyone!

United StatesNeed to be comfortable using hand held shower head in an open tub (for US travelers).
Super charming, spacious studio with spectacular balcony view. It felt like a home away home, super cozy! Valika is super friendly, helpful, and very responsive! Upon check-in, Valika brought out a map and circled all the tourists spots and recommended local favorite spots to try. She helped reserve taxi pick-up and drop off with Dominik, who’s super nice and friendly; he parked at a location closest to the studio that other taxi/Uber driver may not be familiar with and he even helped carry a heavy luggage. Walking down and up the steps to and from the old city isn’t as bad it looks, takes about 10 minutes, a great way to start and end the day.

New ZealandIt was a bit difficult finding the address location once we were dropped off. The was a construction site near by that we needed to walk through that made finding the actual location confusing as it put us on the wrong side of the apartment with no number to indicate the property. Also the contact number to call was incorrect.

LithuaniaThe view is amazing! Location is great it's just 10 min walk up the hill from the main city gates and it's not so steep as people are saying, steps are long (10-20 meters long) and are easy to walk it's more like simple road up the hill. Of course you will not go to apartment 2-3 times per day, usually you go out in the morning and return in the evening. Apartment had all kitchen utensils, good wifi. Also, owner met us near the apartment and showed everything around.

New ZealandThe views were spectacular. The apartment was beautifully clean and suited our needs perfectly. Our host was lovely and super helpful 😊. There were a lot of stairs, and it's a tough climb on a hot day, but I knew this in advance by reading the reviews beforehand. It was 100% worth the climb to sit on the deck and look out at that view!

United KingdomNot that we didn’t ‘like it’ but the property is up a lot of stairs, there are two routes available and one is very slightly longer but the stairs are less steep. Dubrovnik is stairs, stairs, and more stairs so be prepared for that!
A nice separate apartment with a joining balcony, spacious and peaceful. The view from the balcony is amazing, the time we did spend at the apartment, 90% of it was out here. We loved waking up with a coffee out here watching the boats come and go and on a night time there was some really amazing lightening storms out at sea. Valika was a wonderful host, she arranged for a taxi driver to pick us up from the airport who was incredibly friendly and showed us things on the way to the apartment and made recommendations for us to do whilst we were here. Valika showed us lots of things on the map and made recommendations for walking tours and restaurants to eat at. If we had any issues we could just text her and she sorted it for us straight away. Would stay here again.
