Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLovely, helpful host. Fantastic spot- walking distance to old town and beautiful swimming spots but removed enough from crowds to be a peaceful retreat. Lovely space inside plus huge balcony to watch the sunset. Thank you!

United KingdomThe flat is on a hilly part of town (hence the good views) so if you have luggage you will probably need a car/taxi.
The property was very clean and the host was waiting for us right on arrival time. The flat can comfortably host 5 persons. It also has a big balcony with great views.

Fantastic apartment for 5 adults at a great location for exploring old town Dubrovnik (500m downhill) with supermarkets a 5 minute walk away. Our hosts gave us all the information we needed and were always available if needed. There was juice in the fridge to welcome us, which was a nice touch.

IrelandApartment is really close to the beach and old town, just 5-10 minutes walk (down the stairs). It is very spacious and sunny in the morning. Big terrace overlooking the garden and in distance view of the sea. Great for breakfast and late dinner. Spacious living and dining room combined in one with air con. Two big bedrooms and one small for a single person, with bathroom and second toilet are enough even for bigger groups. There are fans in every bedroom. Everything was clean and owner provided us lots of towels and toiletries. Owner (Mrs Jelena) provided us coffee, cold water and some juices, and she was available all the time.

United KingdomIn terms of something truly minor. Bathroom towels, whilst plentiful were all on the small side.
Fabulous location with easy access parking. Many reviews about the steps to the old town however, I’m in my mid 50’s and not particularly fit. I found the walk to and from town fine and worth the view. Apartment is spacious, clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay including fast WI-FI which is a bonus compared to many places.

United KingdomOnly issue were the steps down to the old town and beach but you soon get used to it.
Great location and it was convenient for shops and all other attractions including the old town and beach. Our flight was delayed and the host was very flexible and was waiting for us when we arrived.

EstoniaThere was one knife and completely dull, but we did not bother to disturb the host, just got a new one for a couple of euros from the local supermarket.
Perfect location, next to the old town, but reacheable with the car, also next to the main underground garage (parking). Very calm location, wonderful seaview. Amazing host Lena patiently explained all we need both in the apartment and in the town. Comfortable beds, plenty of kitchenware and cutlery, smart TV, good quality wifi, there was almost nothing missing.

GermanyWe cannot complain. Sometimes the water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but this was not a general problem.
The accommodation is close to the centre, above the town, reached via many steps. The flat is very clean and offers plenty of space. All cooking facilities and appliances are available in the modern kitchen. There are two toilets. The very spacious balcony (approx. 15 m2), where we sunbathed every day in the great October sun, deserves special mention. You look into a well-kept private garden and see the sea in front of you at some distance. It is quite quiet. The friendly host family also lives in the house and is always available to answer questions. We will gladly come again.

United KingdomSteps up the hill were challenging at the end of a long day sightseeing beautiful Dubrovnik but it kept us fit.
Lovely apartment. Lots of room with everything you need. Beds are really comfortable. Location is fantastic less than 10 minutes from the old town via a nice walk down through a park and little alleyways. Great view out to sea as well. Jelena and her daughter were excellent and friendly hosts even bringing us some fruit from their garden.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing!
Our host was absolutely lovely, we were greeted at check in and shown around. The house was very clean and the balcony was lovely with a nice view. Our host was very helpful and told us places to visit around Dubrovnik. The location was perfect, a short 10 minute walk to old town. Parking space just outside the property was helpful as parking in old town is difficult.

United KingdomThe bath is small but, adequate and the shower is hand held so interesting trying to get washed especially for my over 6ft boys! but they coped. The towels are also a little small but plenty of them to double up.
The apartment was lovely and clean and well equipped. It had everything you need for a comfortable stay. in the kitchen you had a oven, grill and hob. Kettle, toaster and coffee machine. there was plenty of pots, pans, cutlery and mugs, glasses and plates. There was a dishwasher. There is one separate toilet and a bathroom with half bath and shower head, toilet, bidet and a washing machine. The bedrooms were a good size with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Living area consisted of settee, dining table with 4 chairs and a good size TV. There is a lovely balcony which is hardly overlooked and you have a view of the sea in the distance. There was plenty of towels and things like toilet rolls are provided. Again the hallway has plenty of storage for shoes, coats etc.... The location was about a 15 min walk either along a slightly hilly road or 214 steps to the main centre filled with bakeries, supermarkets, tourist information etc... but ok if you take your time. They was a little supermarket and bakery about 5 minutes walk away. Amazing views along the walks.

CanadaI have been born in and spent decades in the Balkans and so I know what to expect with air conditioning but honestly this place was far too hot to sleep properly. Given the revenue this place brings from short term rentals it is not unreasonable to have a small AC unit in each bedroom to help with sleep. Host and property were great but this affected our sleep for each of the 3 nights significantly.
