Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomReally liked everything about the property. It was in a quiet area but with the most amazing walk down to the old town which had one of the best views I have ever seen. The hosts went above and beyond, leaving wine and fruit for our stay and also providing us with things for the BBQ.

United KingdomNo complaints just be prepared there's 1 restaurant you can walk to otherwise it's bus or taxi to any shops etc but suited us perfectly.
This place is a little gem! Set up on the hill in a peaceful spot, well maintained, well equipped self catering apartments. Hosts are fantastic and Mario's boat trip is a must! The pool was excellent to relax around before or after a day's exploring.

United KingdomAt the weekend the bus service to Dubrovnik is virtually zero which meant using taxis. Weekday service was better but still fairly limited.
Mario met us at the airport to take us to the apartment. That made things much easier. The pool area was spotless and quiet. We had a lovely terrace with vines growing on it where we could enjoy our breakfast. The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with as they lived on site. Mario’s mother gave us some delicious tomatoes from her garden. A lovely quiet location.

My Son and I had a wonderful holiday. The villa was in a beautiful, peaceful location but with easy access to the town via bus or via a short walk down the hillside with stunning views. Thank you Mario and Maria for making our stay so special.

The property is spotless with everything you need. Really comfy bed so had a great nights sleep. Maro and his family are so friendly always say hello when they see you and so happy to help in any way possible. The location is further out but that’s something we wanted as I didn’t want to be in the hustle and bustle and wanted some down time which the pool definitely gave us that. You do get amazing views of old town but the walk down is quite steep and a lot of steps but the use of Uber made it very easy to get to and from the property. Overall a fabulous stay and Dubrovnik really is a fantastic place to visit

United KingdomThe location of the property is quite hard to drive to due to being at the top of some very steep hills. For this reason, we had over 25 Uber drivers refuse our trip over the course of the holiday. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who hasn’t driven a hire car before or is a nervous driver as it was very scary.
Although the room was quite basic, it had everything we needed. Pool was a lovely size and Mario & Maria were very helpful and kind.

IrelandOnly downside is no local shop to buy milk/bread/ eggs but knowing this in advance and as advised, we bought all in a supermarket on way from the airport to our accommodation.
Mario & family were so welcoming from moment we booked to when we were dropped back to airport. He arranged picking us up from airport, bringing us to supermarket on way to accommodation, gave us invaluable local knowledge & arranged getting us back to airport on time. Highly recommend Mario's private boat trip to Kolcep & Lopud islands (we did half day shared with another couple.) Went snorkeling in green cave - (offered blue cave too.) Accommodation is within 300m of Konoba Dubrava restaurant - it really is one of top 5 restaurants to eat in Dubrovnik - queue of taxis each night demonstrates that. Great local cuisine & they sure know how to cook. They most famous for Lamb & Octupus under the lid (takes 3 hours to cook) - so be warned you should reserve a table in advance but easily done on their website. They also do takeout food which we availed of. Scenery is amazing. It's a lovely quiet place away from busy tourist old town but accessed by steps down - give yourself 25 mins (stoney but doable) but Uber back- €7.25. Mario's parents gave us homegrown tomatoes, apples, olive oil, liquor, stooodle etc - all home grown/ made - fabulous flavours & we used to make great lunches during our stay.

SwitzerlandWhilst the location of the villa does provide benefits (it is quiet, in a serene setting, usually cooler than the city, etc.), it may be a little too far out of town for some. We found walking down the hill to Dubrovnik to be ok but did not attempt to hike back up to the villa. Instead, we were reliant on the bus / taxi.
A very clean, well-equipped apartment in a quiet village location above Dubrovnik. The apartment has a spacious balcony with a pleasant view. The villa has a very nice pool. The host family were very friendly and hospitable. This extended to 'welcome items' in the refrigerator and fresh vegetables from the garden. An airport pick-up and drop-off was provided at a competitive price.

United KingdomNothing.
Myself and my partner stayed here for 7 nights, the apartment was in a small town which was beautiful, the town was so peaceful and quiet out of the busy centre. We got Ubers into the centre for approx €6-€12. Maria and Mario were fantastic always on hand if needed and left some wonderful homemade liqueur in the fridge and brought us some freshly made cake. The pool was lovely and refreshing after a long day of exploring. The place was spotless, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The aircon was great too. One of our favourite things about the property was the owners love for pets, they had a turtle garden and cats which was lovely. The apartments felt so homely and I would definitely stay there again.
