The view from the apartment wasn't the greatest but that's not Paula's fault and we did know what it would be like when we made the booking. (I got the impression Zadar is still going through a lot of reconstruction and renovation which is no big surprise given the relatively recent difficult times Croatia had to face after declaring its independence and before being able to enjoy the benefits of being an independant country.) The location of the apartment however easily overcame any disappointment with the view, and the cost of the accommodation, which we thought was excellent value for money, also assuaged any doubts we might have had. One thing we would suggest is that a few basic instructions on how to operate things in the apartment would be a good idea. I'm a pretty practical person and so I eventually found and worked out the air conditioning controls and worked out how to operate the sun screens on the windows as well as finding the key that worked the safe in the bedroom but other guests may not find those things as quickly and a few brief explanatory notes might not be a bad idea.

Although we did not meet Paula, our host, while we were in Zadar, we were able to contact her, via WhatsApp, and she always responded to questions and with necessary information within a few minutes. The check-in time on our booking was after 2.00pm but Paula was able to let us know, via WhatsApp, that we could have a very early entry to the apartment as her previous guests had left for an early flight (as we did on our departure) and so we were able to have our taxi drop us at the apartment rather than in town where we would have had to drag our cases around for a few hours before getting into the apartment. That was a huge bonus and effectively gave us an extra day to our holiday and was only possible due to being able to keep in touch with Paula via WhatsApp. We also asked Paula for a number of recommendations, for things to do or places to eat or drink, and again she was always very quick to respond with helpful recommendations and comments. The flat was in a great location relative to the old town of Zadar, where we spent most of our holiday time, and it was literally only 5 minutes walk from the apartment. The air conditioning worked perfectly and was very welcome after a hot day and the water pressure in the shower was also high which was great for a refreshing morning wake up or a cleansing wash after a hot sweaty day. As for Zadar itself we couldn't think of a better introduction to Croatia. The range of restaurants was impressive as was the seafood on offer at nearly all restaurants. There is a range of prices to suit every pocket we thought and eating well need not be too expensive. Like all Croatian towns Zadar is exceptionally clean and tidy and its residents are rightfully proud of their town so it was a pity when we saw tourists leaving their rubbish on seats, grassed areas and on the streets rather than looking for a bin, which were usually easy to find.

There was a 6 or 7 minute walk to enter the old town, but part of the walk was along the marina which was nice.

It is a very cute apartment with a roomy living area. Since this was the middle of our time in Croatia, the apartment’s washing machine was a life savor for us. The owner was very responsive via the WhatsApp. The parking spot was directly in front of the apartment building entrance. And the manager gave us a code so we could enter the unit without her having to let us in.

We struggled to get the air conditioning in the lounge to work. It might have been us but some instructions would be useful.

Excellent apartment. Well kitted out, very clean. Bedroom had lots of wardrobe space. Bathroom with cabinets to store toiletries. Balcony with airer to dry washing. Well equipped kitchen. Parking space and only 15 minutes walk in to the old town Zadar. I would strongly recommend staying in this apartment.

The cleanliness of the apartment stood out, and I was especially touched by the hostess, who was willing to send my forgotten item. This kind of dedication and personal attention is rare, and I'm very grateful for it. This apartment is an absolute recommendation for anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay! In addition to all the other positive aspects of my stay, I would like to emphasize that the parking at this apartment was also excellent. It provided a safe and easy place to park my car, which was particularly convenient due to its proximity within walking distance to the old town. This made the stay ideal for travelers with a car, as parking in the old town is often lacking and can be exceptionally expensive, up to 40 euros per day. This apartment not only offered comfort and service but also a clever solution for traveling by car. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore the old town without worrying about parking issues!

This is one of the occasions where the apartment itself is much better than the photos we see on the site. Best place to stay to visit Zadar .
