The only suggestion I have for the lovely owner is to add a fridge in the rooms. In the summer heat of Croatia having cold water is essential. I managed to slightly vercome this issue by placing my water bottles outside the window at night, so they were slightly cold by morning but not cold enough.

The room rate comparing to the quality of the place is really reasonable. Tranquility of this place is unmatched. I managed to complete tasks of my PhD thesis in just three days, tasks that would have taken me a month elsewhere. Sitting and relaxing while listening to the sounds of birds, donkeys, and cows was incredibly relaxing for me. Although the amazing room facing the field was occupied when I checked in, my room was still lovely and nice. The entire place is charming, with a spacious bathroom and wonderful hosts. I didn't get to meet the owner and his wife since they were on vacation, but their daughter was very welcoming and attentive. They even checked daily if I needed fresh towels. The breakfast is delightful, especially the yogurt which like most of their food comes from their farm. Some guests have complained about the smell of animals but I found it to be not issue.at all. It actually adds to the feeling of being on a relaxing lovely farm. During my stay, the moon was almost full and sitting outside at night under the bright moon and clear starry sky was an extraordinary experience. By the way , don't miss having dinner on their resturant by the time before sunset .It's an amazing atmosphere to dine in by that time in front of the farm field with delicious food at reasonable prices. I would even recommend their restaurant by that time to anyone even if they are not staying at the farm. I highly recommend this place.

Very peaceful location in countryside just off the motorway (but you wouldn't know it!) Although we only stayed one night, staff welcomed us to the farm. One for animal-lovers: donkeys, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats, and at night, a chorus of frogs. Accommodation was comfortable and food was hearty and generous.

So happy we found this adorable farm to table family farm. Everything was perfect. Loved the family work ethics and kindness. We truly loved the homemade organic foods and drinks. Excellent cooks!!! Oh, the land and animals were such a joy to see. We walk around the land and noticed how good they are at farming.

No dedicated area for guest dining, meaning that when the restaurant is hosting a private function guests can't eat there. Equally, if the place is very busy, such as at Sunday lunch, it can be impossible to even sit at an outside table for a drink.

Lovely setting and stone buildings, but once you turn off the road at the brown sign for Stara Štala, you don’t get another sign for it, despite passing a couple of other houses, so just keep going. The room was spacious and airy, but there’s no kettle or fridge and they make it clear that eating in the room is not permitted. The Booking.com listing claims satellite TV, but that wasn’t the case, just terrestrial. However, given Croatian TV airs lots of English-language films and series in original language with Croatian subtitles, there’s more choice than you might think. There are lots of rave reviews about the food on here, and while it was generally good the portions were average and not particularly generous (especially side dishes of vegetables and salad, which seems strange). We also got the distinct impression that their main business is the restaurant, which often hosts big events such as weddings, or is fully booked for such as Sunday lunch (both of which happened when we were there) and that during these times we guests were very much secondary, in fact, we actually felt like we were in the way. And even asking well in advance, there was no option for any guests to eat on the night of the wedding, and restaurants are a drive away. The staff and owners work very hard and are, perhaps, a bit over-stretched at these times. The wedding revelry went on well into the early hours (quite rightly) and might have disturbed some people, though we didn’t find it too bad, despite having our windows open. Breakfast was ample and good, with eggs if you want them – and ask for the pumpkin jam!

We loved that you could walk the farm. The room was immaculate. There are limited rooms which made the stay more intimate and quiet. You MUST eat dinner and experience the breakfast. Absolutely delicious. The family that runs the inn and farm are lovely. I want to come back to Croatia just to stay here again.

Poor insulation (you car hear guests in the room next to you when they go to the bathroom etc.). If you like to sleep a bit longer, perhaps 9 am, that is not possible there because you can hear people working outside on agricultural machines and so on. Breakfast was okay, it could have been better.

The village is pretty much isolated, there are not many cars driving by. As the name says "Stara štala" (english: old barn), there are cows, donkeys, pigs, chicken etc. around accomodation. Room was clean.

All was good. There’s a choice of meals but the range is limited to what is available at the farm. We were very happy with what we ate.

The property is in the centre of attractive countryside and close to many hill-top villages. our room was a good size, the bed was comfortable & bathroom had everything we needed. Walter and his wife cooked everyone staying a good evening meal & breakfast made up almost completely of produce from their farm.
