Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EcuadorPrice for transport to arrive and leave hostel. Seems like the local water taxi guys and the tuktuk drivers just want your money and try to scam you big time. I got the information from hosts that a water taxi ride from the airport to the accomodation would be 500 Lempira. I got several numbers of water taxis from the hosts that I contacted on WhatsApp. One confirmed it's 500 Lempira (but wasn't on the island to help out). Another one requested 1000 Lempira. That's a horrendous price. Same driver then tried to haggle for way back, saying 700, then 600 Lempira, "price for a friend". Luckily for way back I found other solution with someone else staying at the hostel for an acceptable price. Also the tuktuk took me to completely other location, even though told him clearly it was a 2 min ride and name of place. He asked for 5 times more Lempira than it would usually cost. Those experiences are really annoying and tiring and hard to trust anyone after that. Would recommend to kindly ask the hosts to organise your transport for better pricing and hopefully better experience. Also in case you don't have a SIM card or internet in Honduras you'd need to arrange all in advance.
Very nice location, directly at the sea. The private cabin has an outdoor shower behind. That was the best :) Very strong water beam, so great to shower. 4 dogs and several cats. They are all cute and with different personalities, so really entertaining. You can take them with you on the island across. Kayaking to the island across. For eating, you have two options: Either buy fresh food to cook in the continent or bigger island. Or walk over the hill each time towards the village (15min) to eat there. One restaurant there is totally overpriced, the other one reasonable. Or go with tuktuk to other village to eat. But then you need to coordinate the tuktuk or be lucky to find one. Keep in mind: Transport to get to and get away from the place. You need to come to the island and then take a water taxi to the accomodation. When sea is rough, they would drop you at Savanah bight, which is a 2 min. Tuktuk ride and then walking up and down a hill (host will help you with luggage). If the sea is calm, the water taxi can drop and take you from the pier at the accomodation. That's way more practical.

United StatesThere needs to be an accessibility warning on the description, in my opinion. In order to enter or exit the property, you must walk a short distance through sand. Then you hike about 10 minutes through the woods, on uneven ground with some narrow and steep sections. And definitely heed the name 'backpackers'; if you have luggage that is not a backpack, it is a hassle to trek it through the woods to the hostel. It is a really simple and short walk, and everyone in my party was capable and unbothered, but we thought it should be mentioned so that anyone the physical limitations can decide if they are able to access the property or not. And so people know that they should pack as lightly and conveniently as possible.
This place is super tranquilo and perfect. The location is stunning, and the views never end. The workaway volunteer and other frequent guests were super nice and added to the good vibes. The animals are a very welcome presence, and the doggos that follow you on your hike into town or to the beach are so precious and loyal! The space is very comfortable and chill. The breeze is always nice. This is not a reflection on the hostel, but something to note: You will be walking a lot. There is only one restaurant that's super close (fancy hotel that's nearby). So you'll have to walk into town between 15-25 minutes to go buy groceries (very limited options) or to find a local restaurant. You can get a tuk tuk, but you might want to get the number of one early on because they don't tend to hang out at the end of the road that's near the hostel. Many of the spots you'll want to see (beaches, waterfall, snorkel spots) are not accessible by tuk tuk, so they'll often drive you to a certain spot, but then you walk a good distance after the road ends. This all is not bad, but I thought it worth mentioning so others know that they will be walking the majority of the time to get many places. I highly recommend this hostel!!! It's a lovely island paradise getaway! Would return in a heartbeat.

FranceThe hotel does not tell you in advance but you need to pay cash (or with Paypal) + there is no bank on the island. Just a tienda that you can pay to against 1000 Lps max. You need to go to La Bonacca to find an ATM (700 Lps to go there). There should be a possibility to pay in advance through Booking or by card. In any case, bring enough cash with you! The roof leaked: there were puddles of water in the living room and in the bedroom quickly after it started raining. There are holes on the floor: found a big crab and a frog in my bedroom. There are daily electricity and internet outages (which seems not to be the case in the hostel area). You can be left in the dark for 10+ hours. The place is super isolated: you need to walk at least 30mn to find the first tienda, where veg and fruits are almost non existent. No restaurant open on sunday. The place does not offer or sell any food, even when you reach the place at night... and there is no way to walk in the dark and through the jungle to grap something to eat. Strongly advised to come with food, at least snacks. This was only clean on the surface: mouse/ rat droppings were found in the cupboards. Moldy spices are left in the kitchen, there is kind of a greasy film on the plates. The kayaks are not verified: one of them just sank, there was a hole in it. Fortunately the guest that was using it did not lose so many things... but still!
The place is calm, in the middle of nature. Amazing view from the cabana.
