The room had no curtain so getting changed was risky and you can hear EVERYTHING!

The location is nice and chilled, the room was very ‘instagrammable’ but basic. Was walking distance to Semuc Champey and the food was good.

It rained and our room got soaked, luckily we noticed fast and cold move our bags. After telling the receptionist man, he just said they are under construction still. Lots of cob webs everywhere and the bathrooms weren’t super clean. We were happy to leave.

Booked because it was close to the entrance which was a plus but there are probably better options for a little bit more money. Beds were comfy and very spacious in the room

the staff! we had booked rooms with shared bathrooms, but they were getting refurbished so we were kindly upgraded for free to 3 private rooms! it’s right on the river which is great for a refreshing dip to cool down as it gets quite hot in the day. dinner is 50Q - affordable and delicious. great location in close proximity to Semuc Champey’s cave and pools. we booked a shuttle and tour from the hostel which was easy and hassle free. such cute puppies here as well

No fans in the dorms so it gets very hot. Also very buggy - bring repellant!

The Pachamaya River Hostel is a place located 5minutes by foot next to the semuc champey national park. The chill atmosphere, the staff and the location making it a wonderful place to stay. The Rio leads directly to Semuc Champey and is quiet comfortable for swimming. All in all good experience and kind of a remote place.

The location was great. Less than 10 min to the park entrance and directly at the river. There were a lot of bad reviews but we can’t support them. They offer a transfer for 25q pP from Lanquin and other activities. The apartment (private room in the attic w/ shared bathroom) was simple but had mosquito nets and comfortable mattresses. Nice view to the river and mountains. Shared bathrooms were there plenty, clean and in short reach to the rooms. The food was simple but good quality and served hot (instead of what others wrote). The stuff was friendly and a bit more of a “homie” type but that was pretty fine for us. One night they played some music at the bar but that’s nothing a good pair of earbuds can’t solve.

There is a lot and i mean a lot of flys at night in the restaurante and a bit in the room it was anoying

We looked for a lot of recomondations of hostels nearby the semuc champay reserve and we ware a bit confused The place is good they are very close to the reserve 10 to 15 min walk The staff is nice abd helpfull We arrived with a shuttle to lanquin at 7 am i think and theres a lot of colectivo taxis thats jumping on you offering to take you to the hostel for 25Q we took it but understood it was over priced the real price is 10Q thats what they took me at the return to lanquin and what also the locals said The food here is a decent 50Q for most of the food and the shuttle they offer are good prices There is internet here it works best at the reception but a bit also in the private rooms There is places to charge your phone in the resturant and chill area and also in the private rooms The value for the money here is great so i would recomend it Enjoy

It's a small thing, but a girl was sick and needing to get back to the city and a hospital. The hostel offered her a shuttle, expensive but to be expected. What bothered me is the staff lied to her - they told her it would be a lot longer bus than it was and she would have to change 4 times. I had caught the bus the day before and knew it wasnt like this, so i had to tell her. I understand the hostel trying to upsell services but this girl was very upset and I felt like she was being taken advantage of. That aside, this hostel is lovely and i would go back there and stay again

The food, no variety, the food was always cold.. the cabins need improvement they need to install window/ door screens, no ventilation at all..on the new cabins the restrooms need windows with screens so insects don’t get inside

A few things would really improve the rooms eg more furnishing, such as a large rug on the floor, a mirror, some hooks. The food wasn’t the best and sometimes the bar played music too loud at night.

Some of the staff were kind and attentive and some didn’t seem like they wanted you there at all. Least friendly guide I think I’ve ever had.

Property was absolutely beautiful, exceptionally cool place to stay. Great value, very cool place to get away. The value of the tour into Semuc was awesome and very worth doing. One of the staff members was so helpful and kind it was amazing.

The food was not good, especially the pad thai. The power would consistently go off or not be turned on at all for most of the day, which isnt their fault as they run on a generator. We were never given a key for our room. The bathroom smelled like sewage and the lack of door made the room smell similar. Our view from right outside our door was a lovely pile of garbage, half seared from being burned. There's so much potential, but its clear the owner doesn't equip their staff to be able to handle the space.

The location was perfect and the breakfasts were decent. Being within a walkable distance from semuc champey was nice, staff were helpful and the beers and drinks were very reasonably priced. It's also right on the river and the public seating area is quite idyllic.

The meals are not the best and take a lot of time to arrive. Also I was really cold at night but there were no blankets, just sheets, I asked but they didn't have any.

Location is amazing right next to the river. The room was very spacious and comfy. They organize one day tours to semuc with caves and tubing, it was a good deal.

Didn’t tell us we needed cash to pay for the room until we arrived which was annoying bc we then had to pay to get a lift back into town to go to the atm (we weren’t planning on going back into town)!

Lovely! Beautiful and nice food they offer at the restaurant for a good price. Location was great, right on the waterfront & not far to walk into semuc champey. Also they have beautiful dogs who live on the property!

There were lots of spiders in out bungalow, something I don't know if can be helped because you are in the middle of the jungle after all. We just had to check everything before going to bed. The bungalow, though huge, did not have any surfaces where we could put our things on. It had only one glass table (impossible to move) and one rocking chair on the outside, so they were not useful to us because it was raining. Also, the furniture in the common area isn't comfortable at all - and with the wi-fi working only there and not having other sitting places in the bedroom, your bum and back will ache (but the views are nice anyway)

Very close to semuc champey. The food was tasty and with a nice size! Byron was a friendly and helpful figure as well. Also,we were given a bungalow with a private bedroom even though we had paid for one with a shared bathroom,so it was a pleasant experience:) The free tubing experience was a pleasant surprise and enjoyable, even if short.

It’s just a 15 min walk from Semuc Champey! The common spaces are good and the wifi is good as well! The food was amazing, really big portions. The staff is super nice
