Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GuatemalaMy confirmed reservation for deluxe sweet was canceled 1 day after, They said it was already booked and didn't really care. The owner who's in charge of reservations offered me the 2nd floor room and I agreed to the offer. The night we arrived they had given our room to someone else. Totally un profesional. I had stayed here before and it went well, but this time it was not good at all.
View was ok, staff was not friendly at all. For the exception of the young lady who was in charge of the hotel

CanadaWhere to start? …. 1) when I booked online it was for 1 double bed bedroom with a private shower. The rooms the lady showed me didn’t seem to match up. I tried to show her the picture of the room I believe the advertisement was for (but seems I was wrong). I was more than happy and offered to pay for a better room/upgrade. (To which I did and the room still was just ok (there was a cockroach in my towel and no blankets in the room- just a bed sheet) 2) the staff working at the facility do not speak one word of English and know that my Spanish is minimal. I made multiple attempts to communicate with the lady at reception but her communication was incredibly sharp and brash so I became a little defensive. I tried to do google translate with her but for some reason she was the only Guatemalan person from my entire trip who did not seem to understand the translation and refused to make an effort to talk to me, instead she’d just ramble on in Spanish and give me dirty looks. 3) when dealing with the owner on the phone to sort out the money (because it appeared my bank was showing 2x charges pending which didn’t make sense), instead of the owner asking me for my opinion and what happened, she just began firing at me on the phone. As I’m a paying customer/guest I was shocked and appalled by the sharpness to her. I had to ask serval times if I could speak and she could listen to my concerns. She eventually did but then wanted to cancel my booking through here to make it easier. I did not want it canceled on here and had to beg her over 8 time to not do that as I need to communicate to her (and I also wanted to leave a review). 4) I did not eat the food there because the staff didn’t make me feel welcome and I saw part of what the kitchen looks like and it’s quite dirty.
Not much! It’s close to the beach so that was a plus. They did allow late check out for a few which I appreciate. The place has the location and potential to be really nice.

NorwayDidn't get what I ordered. The aircondition doesn't work in three of the rooms i was offered. The pool doesn't work and have no filtration and is very dirty. The staff was sitting and smoking marihuana on the top deck and also offered me marihuana. After this last situation we decided to rent other hotel. Day two one of the staff followed us to get the key back even we had paid for two days. She was also very rude. My worst experience of any hotel in my life. I will not recommend this to nobody.

GuatemalaThe food was not that good, in my opinion I feel that it was very expensive for the quality, I ordered fried chicken and they brought it literally burned, we also ordered a fried mojarra and it had no flavor, they just put chopped garlic on top. I do not recommend the rooms on the first level, at first glance they looked very dirty and the drainage of a bathroom smelled VERY bad !! The bedspreads in my room were dirty, I brought my own bedspreads and used them. I think that the hotel could be more beautiful but they do not maintain it and it lacks hygiene in general, we went through the kitchen and it was extremely disgusting

United StatesThe hotel has potential to be a nice place to stay but no maintenance AT ALL. It’s the worse hotel that I’ve been in my life so far, hopefully I don’t have that kind of experience anymore. No water enough to take a shower or flush the toilet, and when we talked to the staff their answer was “we aren’t receiving water enough to everybody here”. Bed sheets and towels are very very old and the furnitures and the curtains. The pool was DUTY, super DUTY what made us scary to enjoy it. A lot of noise from other rooms. We really had a horrible experience. Hope I’m helping to not be so disappointed like we did. We regret so much for this booking, but everywhere was already sold out so we weren’t able to change the hotel.

Guatemalathe pool was dirty 2 out of three days of hour stay, manager tried to solve it but the personnel didn’t clean it properly, we were left on our own and didn’t have anyone assist us with food / or any room service for a whole day, we had to walk a block to be able to eat, the room wasn’t cleaned a single time during our stay. Personnel was kind, they just didn’t seem to know how to run the hotel.
