Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceThe house is great and also Stathis did everything to make sure I was ok. A bit off the centre, which was really good since I enjoyed the ambience and the calmness. Also there is a number of steps to the villa but for me it was no problem. Thanks for everything!

ItalyThe location is quiet, we woke up every morning with the rooster crowing. Having breakfast on the terrace was such a beautiful experience. We had dinner EVERY night at Ostria tavern, which is the restaurant owned by Stathis and Anastasia (the owners of the house) and it was so special that we couldn't try any other place. Stathis came at the harbour to pick us up with the porter and a donkey to bring up the suitcases...We didn't expect that and we really appreciated it. The house was super clean, every three days the cleaning lady was coming and changing sheets and towels. There are some steps to climb up to the house but it's totally doable, also considering that you'll be in an island without cars, so you'll walk anyway...It's just a good training. Of course if you have walking disability it's not recommended. Just a lovely place to stay!!!

RomaniaIn the house, there is no stove, so cooking is not possible. This aspect is clearly stated in the accommodation's description and should not be considered a negative aspect - I am mentioning it here only to avoid any misunderstanding for those who may have different expectations. Also worth noting is that access to the bedroom is via a narrow staircase.
Villa Sunrise is a very good option for a family of 3-4 members. The host is wonderful - prompt and helpful at all times. They also provided us with water and espresso machine tablets. The house is located 10 minutes' walk from the port and approximately 60 steps uphill (which was not a problem for us, but might be difficult for a family with a baby

SwitzerlandNothing at all!
Stathis is a very very nice person he waited in the harbour with a porter with horses for our luggage. Water was already in the house. The house is perfect for people who search a quiet place with a good energy :-). Yes, you have to walk 10 min from the harbour, yes you have to climb stairs to reach the house. But the house, the calm, the privacy on the terrace (sun in the morning, shadow after about 4pm) and the air you have up there is worth it. We hiked from there to the monastery in the east and the beach at the west point of the island. Was very beautiful but you need to start very early in the morning because of the temperatures.... Last but not least I would like to recommend the restaurant of Stathis and his wife. There you can eat really delicious fresh food for a very good value for the money. Stathis fishes the fish that he grills in the restaurant every day himself! Taste the very good salads, vegetables and of course the fresh fish. We will come back :-)

United Arab EmiratesStathis, the host was extremely friendly and helpful. he met us from the boat and went to find the villa, we went to visit him at his restaurant the same night and made us feel very welcome and the food was amazing - very much recommended. The Villa was nice and spacious, a little walk from the town but proved to good exercise and was very peaceful.

GreeceThere is no cooking equipment. At some point, lots of ants were walking around the sink of the kitchen and unfortunately we found many of them on the bed which is on the upper floor. I have no idea what they were doing there since there was nothing to eat. But we slept together.
Everything in the house is very carefully designed. It has 2 floors and 2 Bathrooms which is very convenient. It has a beautiful small balcony - yard in the front which includes sunbathing chairs. In the kitchen you can find a coffee machine.
