Wonderful old Villa close to the centre. Kosta met us at the square to help with the luggage - Syros is hilly and has a lot of stairs!! We also got plenty of good recommendations for beaches, restaurants etc. Our room (seaview) was nicely decorated and had a wonderful small balcony with table and chairs. Cold water available in the common kitchen. Breakfast was also nice.

Beautifully restored guest house with super comfortable bed and quality linens. Kosta is a most gracious host and provided a comprehensive overview of the island and some terrific recommendations for places to visit and where to eat. Highly recommend staying here provided you’re happy to climb some stairs.

Kostas was extremely nice and helpful, he gaves us lots of really good suggestions for beaches, places to visit and restaurants! He was also very accommodating and did our laundry while we stayed there.

Such a lovely tiny hotel/guesthouse. Regretably, we only stayed one night. We stayed in the smallest room, but this was also perfect for our short stay. Kostas is such a great host. He took time to tell us where to go in the island. Would come back anytime.

Exceptional small boutique hotel with a room of great elegance, cleanliness, and attention to the details. The hospitality of the staff was outstanding! This is the type of location to discover the town of Ermoupolis, with its vibrating market, museums, art galleries, and market. The surrounding beaches are waiting for you!

The rooms were so pretty, spacious, and cosy! And a full body mirror which is perfect for girls on vacation :p Kostas was amazing and went above and beyond - helping us with suitcases and places to eat, bus timings etc. I already can’t wait to come back!

Villa Maria is a little treasure located in the centre of Ermoupolis. Kostas and Eliza restored an old villa with many love into every detail. Our room was big, beautifully furnitured and had everything we needed. It was such a pleasure to stay here!

Kostas is very kind, warm and helpful. We really appreciated him for helping us with the luggages up and down the stairs (lots of stairs because it’s Syros but it’s well-within our expectations). He is also very responsive and excited to give us many great local recommendations in Syros (and even Athens)! We also loved the home-cooked breakfast! Couldn’t recommend more in this comfortable stay. We hope to be back someday!

- The walls in the room we booked needs some refurbishment - Our room was on the ground floor and next to the common kitchen that made it quite noisy in the morning (in combination with the slim wooden doors) - Maybe other rooms / floors don't have the same issue

- Kostas is extremely helpful and is taking great care with his team of the common spaces and plants - All areas where very clean - The location is great (of course there are some stairs to climb but this is Syros!) - Don't take the car in busy periods, it has many two way streets that fit only one car - A beautiful old villa - The toilet was renovated and in great condition

I loved everything.

Everything. This place was absolutely perfect. I felt so safe, I was so comfortable. Villa Maris, is one of the best places I have ever styed during my travels. The host Kostas was so helpful and kind. I arrived after 10pm to the island and he was there to walk me to the room, once I got off the ferry. He also, helped me with my bags to the ferry early in the morning when I was leaving. I just felt soooo amazing being there. I will be back!

It's a gift to be guest at Villa Maria! The house is a true gem in the narrow streets of Ermoupoli. You have to climb a lot of steps to get there, but that's part of the game on Syros anyway. Kostas and Elisa have created an exceptional place. Each room is special, the view is gorgeous, there is a comfy common space behind the house where the wonderful breakfast is served. We enjoyed every second there. Will have to come back for one of the cooking classes...

There were a lot of steps to climb in the extreme heat 🥵

The breakfast was delicious 😋 we ordered in from the menu. The room was enormous and elegant with a stunning view of the sea and port. Kostas, our host couldn’t have been more helpful.

Its on the upper road of ermoupolis and that means : stairs up and down multiple times during the day if you move around. It takes up to 5 minutes to be in the city though even if you take the longer distance road to spare the stairs. Still the location is nice and quite and near vaporia if you want to swim and not visit the beach at any day.

This place only exists in dreams and somehow in the past! Its a beautiful neo classic building with separate big rooms and private spaces. It is made with love and the owners are a proof to that. They are really nice and helpful. From the first day felt just normal being there. Comfortable beds, bride spaces. If you like old school this is definitely the place to stay.

I received a very warm welcome from Mr.Kostas, he picked me up from the main square and guided me to the hotel. Very polite and professional. He took the time to show me around and map out all the incredible places i should visit. Overall i had a wonderful experience. I would definitely come again :)

Nothing. It’s worth noting though that there are a lot of stairs between the port/centre of town and the accommodation and to access the accommodation. That’s just the nature of Ermoupolis though, this was not an issue for us.

Everything about our stay was exceptional, Kostas met us at the main square when we got off our ferry and helped us with our bags to get to the house. He also upgraded our room for free. The room and facilities were fantastic and the views were amazing. Kostas also gave us a lot of great tips on things to do and places to eat, all we’re fantastic. I couldn’t recommend this accommodation more if you visit Syros.
