I recently had the pleasure of staying at Villa la Grand Blue in Amorgos, and it was simply unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, Stergios and Angeliki welcomed us with such warmth and hospitality that we instantly felt at home. Their genuine kindness truly set the tone for our stay. The room was spacious enough for two, impeccably clean, and offered a cozy retreat (rakomelo) after a day of exploring. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making it the perfect spot to unwind. One of the highlights was the lovely breakfast prepared right in front of us by Angeliki. Her homemade greek dishes, bursting with flavor, were amazing! The location of the villa is ideal, just a short walk from the port yet nestled in a tranquil area away from noise. We could easily enjoy the vibrancy of the port while returning to the peacefulness of our room. A heartfelt thank you to Angeliki and Stergios for making our stay so memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend Villa la Grand Blue 100%! I can’t wait to return on my next visit to Amorgos!

The dimension of the rest-room is limited.

The villa is an authentic greek villa, with a beautiful backyard and a very nice breakfast area. The quality of the breakfast with many homemade options was outstanding. The atmosphere created by the family is like being at home. I would repeat if I went back to Amorgos.

Everything was perfect for me

We were very well welcome by Stergios and Angeliki (the owners), from our arrival until we left. They gave us good advices (visiting places, tips, restaurants, etc.) during all the stay. Plus, the room was very nice and the homemade breakfasts were delightful.

The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hosts were incredibly friendly and put on a fantastic breakfast every morning. The communal ‘chill out’ area with hammocks, fountains and view of the hen house was very tranquil and a nice touch.

My stay at Villa Le Grand Bleu was simply perfect - Stergios and Ageliki are amazing and very friendly hosts; the room was very nice and quiet and Ageliki prepared a fantastic breakfast every morning, creating new surprises every day. The place has a great atmosphere, is beautifully decorated and it's perfect for people who want peace and quiet, but it's still very close to the harbour and restaurants. Stergios picks you up at the harbour and takes you back again when you are leaving. They even have a shower on the premises which I used after my last-minute-swim before I left the island. Absolutely recommendable!

Very kind and polite people! Felt like home. Good room and location - close to the port Katapolia but at the same time not loud. Room is clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. A lot of places to have breakfast/lunch/dinner near by, couple of super markets, place to rent a car/bike.

Angeliki and Stergios were really helpful during our stay, from basic needs to suggesting beaches and places to eat and visit. The breakfast was served with care and love and was really good! Villa was tidy and clean and has some spots to stay in the shade and relax. Position is really good for its closeness to Katapola port (and rentals).

The husband and wife team Angeliki and Stergios are quite helpful and attentive. Angeliki elicits such warm feelings that she almost appears to be running on sheer joy much of the time. Stergios is more low key and interacts in a steady and circumspect manner. The location is quite good; the town is very walkable. The breakfast looked spectacular although I am not a breakfast person. My one area of dissatisfaction is the room interior. The rooms are quite stark, almost monastic in nature. I don't believe there was even a picture on a wall, and the bed and lamps were quite old, although the mattress was firm. I realize most of the guests are French and they are not as concerned with old fashioned hotel rooms as U.S. citizens. The major issue for me was the bathroom. There is no showerhead. The shower is extremely outdated and one must use a hand held shower hose. I believe the last time I even stayed in a hotel room with a hand held shower hose was 1979 or 1980. So I would ask Stergios (he seems able to fix anything) please update the showers so that the bathrooms have an overhead showerhead. It may take a while to update all the bathrooms, but at least update a few of them. Ppl will pay more if they receive a renovated room. And perhaps, Angeliki, replace the bathroom towels with softer and newer towels. It is amazing how much better one feels, if after a shower, the towels are soft and skin friendly. (even if one must hold the shower head) All this being said, I would still stay here again, if I am invited back!!
