Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyVilla Erini is the perfect Place to feel comfortable. It’s very clean and beautiful. Michael is the best Host we ever met - he was very caring and we felt like home! Also we went to the restaurant (Magazaki from Leonidas), it’s next to the Villa - we get 3 times there because it has the best Greek dishes who are made by the family of the owner. We will come back again soon!! Greetings Annika and Ina

It is located in a smaller village. Our host Michael was exceptional. He met us upon arrival to welcome us. Had stocked the fridge with some basics and had great recommendations for restaurants and places to go. And the morning we left he came to say goodbye and brought a big bag of grapes from the family farm for us to enjoy on our journey!

GermanyEverything was perfect for us, there is nothing bad about this accommodation.
Everything is exactly like the pictures promise. The villa is designed with great attention to detail and everything is very high quality. Michael is such a nice guy and one of the best hosts we've had. He had a lot tips for us about the area, restaurants and what we can do. In between he asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything and surprised us with pastries from the local bakery. Michael, thank you for everything. We love Villa Erini and the beautiful small town Elaia with all the kind people.

United KingdomI loved everything
Villa Erini was perfect. The villa has been renovated incredibly tastefully by Michael, there is a mixture of modern and traditional features and it feels like home as soon as you arrive. The villa has everything you need for your stay. the outdoor area and the pool are beautiful, your own private oasis with stunning views over the sea and mountains. truly magnificent. The village that Villa Erini is in is wonderful as well, it was so nice to be away from any tourists and sit with the locals while having dinner in the restaurant, everyone was so welcoming and friendly.

United KingdomThe villa is very unique, has a swimming pool with jacuzzi. Lights up from 8pm to midnight. Well equipped kitchen with lots of cooking ingredients & spices. Has a breakfast bar & big dining table. Comfortable sitting room with smart tv including Netflix. Large king size master bedroom with tv. 2nd bedroom with beautiful Mountain View. Chic bathroom with huge shower. All rooms equipped with powerful aircon of both hot & cold cycles. This is the first time we come across with properties in Europe The most touching is Michael our host, he personally waited for us in his cousin’s tavern next to the villa, let us in, show us everything about the property & patiently answered all our questions. He bought us bottles of water, coffee, oobread, eggs, ham & cheese. He gives us wine & olive oil from his family vine yard & olive groves! When he heard I like milk products, he even bought us different milk bread from a famous local bakery. He is so very kind ❤️ We love his cousin’s tavern which serves homemade food made by his mother. We also enjoyed his complementary homemade dessert & raki. During our 6 days stay, unfortunately it’s not very nice weather however because of the comfort of the villa & thanks to Michael, we still enjoyed our time in Crete. PS this property has the most equipped First Aid box we ever seen. it’s like a little first aid station. Very impressive 👍

GermanyNothing!
This place is awesome! Everything was organised very well and the owner helped us with every little question we had, they even organised a transport for us to get back home after a nightout. I can only fully recommend the house and the owner and would always go back again! Also a big recommendation is a Taverna across the Street: To Magazaki where we went literally every day at least to get some snacks or food. All in all just a really good experience and maybe even the best holidays i had so far.

United StatesI had to leave the villa after I was well settled in and thinking of it as home. But I will be back one day soon I hope.
Villa Erini was such an amazing find and really enhanced my introduction and stay in Crete. Michael the host was beyond hospitable, nice and just an amazing person to know making sure I was very well prepared to enjoy all that eastern Crete had to offer. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, everything was just perfect. The villa is in the charming village of Elia that is small and with that real authentic feel. The church is just there, the restaurant coffee spot in front of the villa, its just a very lovely setup. Everyone in the village is friendly, waving saying Good Morning. The villa is with an exceptional view of the sunset, the ocean and the surrounding areas all while being in the quiet village. Michael himself facilitated the remodel of the villa, so its of the very highest quality with thoughtful attention to detail. Everything was so comfortable it quickly felt like my own home only better. Honestly, this villa is out of Architecture Digest or any home remodeling magazine. The pool area is so relaxing, the bathroom is crazy spacious and wonderful a real dream. The entire villa was quiet. Wifi worked great since I did have to work a bit during my stay. The kitchen is beyond well stocked, I really wish I knew how to cook better and could take full advantage. The pool area was the definition of relaxing and I loved having the plunge pool and with the possibility for jacuzzi bubbles. With a glass of wine in hand watching the sunset, it was simply perfect. Overall just a most amazing stay to simple village life on Crete but all the while being about 10 min easy drive back to the city or the beach areas for anything one could need. I definitely hope to be back one day and would without hesitation select to stay here. This is a true gem of a villa with all the character and personality that Crete has to offer.

RomaniaThe newly renovated villa is located in a very quiet traditional Greek village on the mountain, a few minutes from Heraklion. A restaurant with very good food right next to the property, very well stocked grocery store nearby. Thanks to the owner Michalis who was very kind. Everything was above expectations.
