Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAuthentic and quiet. Food at the restaurant (even at 11pm+).
Beautiful rustic house. Authentic but all the required comfort for us. The place is quite large including a nice terrace. Air conditioning on both floors. Affordable breakfast and dinner on site if needed. Maria and her mother were very nice throughout our stay. Thank you so much!

New ZealandIt is quite far from a lot of the attractions and a little bit difficult without a car but it is easy to taxi from Vryses and bus around from here. We also walked the 50 min walk from Vryses a number of times. We enjoyed this plus made friends with the locals who were kind enough to give us the occasional ride
The property was so cool, it was a very comfortable traditional house that stayed cold on very hot days. Plus there was aircon too. The property was also very clean and well looked after. The hosts are very lovely and welcoming and so accomodating. It is a small local village and a very authentic experience. We absolutely loved our stay, the local tavern is always buzzing with people from the village (a small number), there is a cute little gift shop and some walking by trails close by. The closest town where you can get the bus is Vryses which is about a 50 min walk down hill

United StatesOnly one thing: the pillows on the bed were the molded type and were too hard and large for me.
Beautifully restored stone house in a lovely traditional Cretan village.

DenmarkThe village is very small, no shops, no cash machine, two small tavernas. But also almost no tourists- which is why we chose it. :) Nearest larger village is about 10min drive away.
Lovely traditional stone house in a tiny, quiet village. The well equipped and cozy apartment had plenty of room for us (three people). Beautiful mountain view from the terrace. Breakfast at the nearby taverna where the very friendly owners were always available to answer questions etc.

AustriaNothing 🙂
We had a great short stay in this stonehouse! The village where this is located is a very nice calm place. I also praise the host for her friendliness and her restaurant/café had delicious food to offer! Be aware that this house is really simple equipped but for this price and the 2 nights stay it was more than enough.

BoliviaDuring our stay there was no Wi-Fi reportedly due to the weather. So a good place to truly fall under the radar.
It's in a lovely traditional village where they have a couple of caves and some lovely surroundings . The home is made of stone with a fire place, air conditioner and a kitchen. The highlight of the area was Lotus shop, a nice place with plenty of things with historical value.

United KingdomCould have had a better collection of cutlery, some tea/coffee mugs, glaases for wine. Communication was a bit difficult as the phone number on booking.com is for a kafeneion that is closed during the day.
Room an excellent sixe, bed and bedside tables, seating area and table, dining table and chairs, wardrobe and dressing table, fridge, small cooker. Our room had a fireplace you could roast an ox in! Nice enclosed courtyard at the back and stairs up to a roof balcony with nicw view of the village. Quiet village on walking trails.

United KingdomThe kitchen was poorly stocked with no essentials and very few and sparse cutlery and crockery. Would be quite difficult to organise a meal. The studio feels a bit claustrophobic and dark during the day, but cosy enough at night, although I would not recommend staying if you are alone and are a bit of a scaredy cat as it feels you are sleeping in the dungeons.
Very quiet location in the tiny village of Vafes. It was lovely to sit in the private courtyard. The host was very kind and welcoming.

GermanyNothing has been invested in dishes, glasses, cutlery. We had to go to the cafenion to get enough coffee cups, knifes and even the promised coffee maker. Chairs in the small courtyard are metal, stylish and very robust. Chairs in the large courtyard were plastic and all broken. One of the rooms could not be locked, neither the front door to the courtyard. Communication was a bit difficult as no English was spoken, but translation apps and Fotos did the job.
Very nice House, nice courtyards. Lovely architecture. We would clearly recommend this house for example for a family as it contains three apartments with small separate bathrooms each. But bring some kitchen equipment with you.
