Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing, only one slight thing, the pillows could be more comfortable but that's just me being picky.
Very clean. The family that run the apartment complex are very friendly, nothing is too much for them. The pool area was very clean and the restaurant food was of a high standard. The apartments were well equipped, the beds were very comfortable. 5 mins walk from the beach. 30 min walk along the coast to Chania.

United KingdomWe were made very welcome. The family that ran the hotel couldn't do enough for you. The food and drinks were excellent and always served with a smile. Our studio was at the top of the hotel with an excellent view, it was very spacious and clean. The bus stop into Chania a short walk. The pool and pool area easily accessible with plenty of sun beds. We had the best of times and left feeling we had made friends and will definitely be returning.

RomaniaThe furniture and TV could use an upgrade.
The family that owns the hotel was really nice and helpful to us. They have a restaurant on the first floor. where you can have a meal or some coffee. We also enjoyed the pool they have. The apartment where we stayed had one living room with an open space kitchen, where you could just chill on the couch or have some breakfast at the kitchen table. There is a mini fridge, an electric stove and some basic utensils for cooking. The bedroom was of decent size with an acceptable bed and a balcony with chairs and table and rack for drying your clothes. The bathroom was clean with hot, good pressure shower. There are several beaches within walking distance: Golden beach (Hrisi Akti), Agii Apostoli. They cleaned the room daily, when we were out.

United KingdomIt was hard to be sure which room you were booking exactly on via the website images, so I was expecting something slightly different, but this didn't make any material difference to our experience. Not much else to do in the immediate area, bar the beach.
We didn't have breakfast there, but the restaurant, although limited in selection was good. All dishes v tasty and well prepared for what they were, and the service was excellent, and always friendly and helpful. The problem we had with our key was resolved on the spot immediately. Also just a short walk (10 min) from the lovely beach, and just v quiet and relaxed. The family who run Theos are lovely too, very nice energy and manner at all times. Very good and cheap bus service into central Chania too. The surrounding area is pretty dead, though it does have a supermarket and big all purpose store and a couple of restaurants, so its fine, but this is def a relaxing quiet destination - which was fine for what we wanted.

United KingdomWe knew it was a 3 star but furniture was looking a bit tired. However, the owner said they are planning to refurbish all the rooms during the winter.
Great location for us as we liked the short walk to the beach and supermarket. Bus stop was nearby to go into Chania town. Hosts were all so friendly and helpful. We got a free upgrade to an apartment as we weren’t completely happy with the location of our studio, which was very appreciated and all done with a smile. Beds were comfy, quiet location, good air conditioning, pool area was nice. We also hired a car direct from them to go to Elafonissi which was a great price. Airport taxis also arranged through them.

IcelandThe family that owns and runs the place is wonderful! They welcomed us so well, greeted us every day with a smile, and were always ready to help us with any questions we had. The hotel has a great restaurant and bar, all run by the family. The pool is very clean, and there is sun all day around the pool area where the sunbeds are. The room/apartment was very spacious, good AC, housekeeping every day apart from Sundays, everything was clean and in working order, the beds were really comfortable and we also had a small tv. It is also a great location! 5 min walk to the closest beach and also 4 other beaches near the area . It's really easy to get a bus into Chania, the bus stop is a couple minutes walk down the road. The bus takes around 10 to 15 mins depending on the time of day/traffic, and only costs €1.10 per person. There are car rentals nearby and also other great restaurants. There is a mini market just around the corner, where you can buy almost everything you need, including tickets for the bus to Chania. All in all, it was exactly what we wanted and then some. This was our first time in Crete, and we will definitely be back. :) Thank you so much for everything. <3

NetherlandsFor us, there were absolutely no downsides or improvements. It was perfect.
The hosts (a family) are very friendly, always up for a chat and very helpful. They made us feel very welcome by a lot of friendly gestures. The beds were comfortable, the shower was also big enough (for Cretan standards, they normally are very small). Room got cleaned daily. Big balcony! Pool and relaxation facilities were nice. Really good location, the city center seemed too crowded for a relaxed stay, while this was 10 minutes by bus from the hotel, so that was perfect! Good and big mini market around the corner. Good air conditioning (you really need one!) and close to a beach. Restaurant had very tasty gyros! Good cocktails too (with happy hour!) :) Thank you for having us!

I enjoyed a lot my stay at Theos Village Apartments. The location is very convenient, close to many nice restaurants by the beach and you can reach Chania center even by foot (30min walk along the beach). The apartments are clean and spacious, with a nice balcony. The staff is super-friendly and professional, you feel very safe and cared for ;-) I definitely recommend Theos Village for a perfect holiday in Creta !!

AustriaEverything! The facilities are pretty nice (as shown in the photos as well) and were more than enough for us, travelling in 3 people. We could enjoy a lot our time in the pool and bar area while at the hotel. The hotel location is also quite good, with walking distances to good nearby beaches (Golden beach, for example), and 2-3 minutes walk to the next bus stop to Chania's old town. The staff is extremely kind and willing to help us on whatever we needed - they're really amazing! "No brainer" recommended!

Theos Village was a real little oasis. The room was spacious, clean, with a lovely view from the balcony. The air conditioning was also fantastic! The pool was a nice space, kept in a very good condition. The Golden Sands beach was less than a 10 minute walk away, with lots of other local amenities. The highlights for us were the exceptional food and the wonderful staff. Although we dined out a lot during our stay in Crete, we dined twice in the Theos Village restaurant because the food was so fantastic. The Greek pizza was divine, and the saganaki was the best we had ever had). This is a family run business and everyone made us feel so well accommodated. They went above and beyond for us for our whole stay. We can’t wait to return to Theos Village!
