Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDifficulty sleeping due to loud motorcycles going by all night. Was told it was a special gathering and not a regular event. Shouldn’t be a problem for others in the future.
Great place to stay when visiting Meteora. Interesting architecture. BIG pool and lounging area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite a big spread.

SwitzerlandWifi not powerful enough.
Cozy hotel, showing a bit of age, but still very nice. Pool area is great and staff is very friendly. Location and view is perfect, away from the trouble of Kalambaka, but still close enough to city and monasteries.

LatviaThe showers experience was "fun" (there was no door). Our balcony was right next to stairs that had glass doors so everybody comming up or down could see us on the balcony. We could hear everything that happened outdoors. No hairdryer in the room.
Great breakfast. Good view from the balcony. Big room. Beautiful breakfast hall.

PortugalIt's not that we didn't like - we knew it was like that: it has no restaurant, so if you want to have dinner you have to go to the village by car, as it is not close.
We rent a quadruple room, as we were happy with it. The room was large and it had a nice balcony, with cozy table and chairs, and a fridge. The wifi worked well. The swimming pool was really good, and it had a bar. All the staff was friendly. The parking lot was large. Breakfast had lots of choices. It's perfect to visit Meterora, as when the Monasteries close you still have plenty of time to enjoy the pool.

BelgiumThere was nothing that we personally didn't like , we were aware of what we have booked in advance ! Just some tips for future travelers , so you don't ruin your vacation ! This is a great place for people who want to spend less money on accomodation for short stay. It is unfortunately not that accessible for handicaps , so have this in mind. Rooms aren't soundproof, so it is possible you could hear outside traffic , wind or barking dogs. If that is an issue for you - have it in mind. The location is kinda out of the city of Kalabaka, so if you don't have a car I wouldn't recommend it .
A good place for one night stay . Great breakfast , friendly hosts. It is a bit old qua furniture and architecture , but the big plus is a big teras, swimming pool, free parking and good price. There was a fridge in the room , as well as TV and free WiFi . If it gets a bit of renovation in terms of soundproofing, furniture and facilities, this will be our favorite place to stay in when visiting Meteora again , due to the face it is away from the crowdy and busy center of Kalabaka. We had a great stay !

United KingdomIt's a bit tired. The pool area has broken tiles, the room still has the 1970s radio in the wall, the bathroom needs a refit. It's not awful by any stretch, but its just very tired for the price you pay. I guess you are paying for the pool when you are nowhere near a coastline, but I'm not sure it was worth the money. Kalabaka is a more expensive place to stay anyway, so just manage your expectations would be my advice.
Pineas is a perfectly fine hotel. The staff are lovely and the pool area is good - and a real bonus in the summer! Our room was a good size for a family of four - and the balcony was great. Breakfast was good, typical Greek fair. All in all it was fine.

RomaniaNot great sound insulation, there are some motorbikers around and you will hear them quite loudly; the good side is they don't come around too frequently.
Cozy place! Everything was squeaky clean, with friendly staff that went the extra mile in offering us a room with a better view for the same price, telling us about the surroundings and offering a map with recommendations for eating out and tourist attractions.
