Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is nothing we didn’t like.
We were so pleased with our room at Phaedra Hotel. The room met all our needs, also very clean and comfortable. We used the communal outside area with a magnificent view of the mountains. Lena showed us our room and prepared a delicious homemade breakfast, and was so sweet to us.

South AfricaThe small hotel is situated in a very quiet area but in center of Hydra. Hilda, the owner was very helpful, and gave us a lot of information about the island. We had a lovely, spacious suite with a balcony overlooking the busy street - donkeys doing their daily work. We enjoyed the lovely homemade breakfast each morning on the veranda. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to stay at this hotel!!

United StatesNothing. All of our needs were fulfilled plus a little more.
The hotel is in a very quiet area but close to everything. Complete silence at night. We thoroughly enjoyed a very spacious and atmospheric room. We loved the breakfast, welcoming attitude and assistance with various issues and questions from Hilda. She helped us with taxis, a person to bring our luggage from the port, beaches to go to, restaurants, etc. always feeling cared for.

United StatesWi-Fi was a little spotty in the upstairs of our room but strong signal downstairs/on the patio.
Beautiful hotel a few blocks from the waterfront. Friendly and welcoming staff, our room was upgraded for free to a very spacious lofted room with small semi-private courtyard. Delicious breakfast. Highly recommend!

United StatesBe prepared for hearing donkeys braying in the early morning hours along with the roosters. We had no problem sleeping through the night with the windows open.
Hilda greeted us and showed us to our room which was much bigger than expected. Her staff, Lina, greeted us every morning with a fresh breakfast: warm cooked egg in the shell, assortment of homemade pastries, toasted bread, turkey and cheese slices, fresh squeezed juice/smoothie, fresh strong coffee and yogurt with honey up on a beautiful terrace overlooking the hillside of Hydra. Housekeeping was provided daily, plenty of bathroom amenities: soap, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, soap, toothbrushes and terry cloth slippers. There is a keyed safe for valuables and beach towels are provided upon request. Hilda also made some excellent suggestions for dinner nearby or in town. Hydra is very easy to navigate and there are plenty of shops to entertain you around the harbor as well as beautiful pebbly beaches to swim in nearby. A liter bottle of cold water awaits you in the mini refrigerator and there is a mini kitchen should you wish to make a snack. I have to add the bed was very comfortable and we slept well.

AustraliaStaying on Hydra was like a dream and the Phaedra Hotel was such a beautiful place - a bit back from the port so very very quiet with beautiful little streets all around, possibility to walk up to the hills behind the town, very close to all the restaurants and shops. Hilda was so friendly, welcoming, helpful with lots of advice and support during our stay.

United Statesa bit of a walk from the port, but the reward was quiet sleeping at night
Hilda and Lena completely looked after us. They were always available, yet never intrusive. We learned a lot about Hydra and life of the locals. Hilda had a man with handcart take our bags to the hotel and boat when we left. She made the onward calls to get us across to the peninsula and Napflio. Her breakfasts were a treat every morning. Our room had a lot of charm, real furniture, and the decor was so pleasant. Her ground floor accommodation was a real find for us with our walking challenges. I would highly recommend a stay at Hilda’s place.

United KingdomThe only disappointment was that we thought we had our own terrace and we did not, the terrace was shared and we like to sit out and have a drink at night but we were unable to because we were afraid we would have disturbed other people.
The location was perfect everything was in walking distance apart from the beaches which were accessible by boat. The breakfast was lovely and Hilda was very helpful and friendly, the rooms were cleaned every day and were exceptionally clean and comfortable. We would definitely consider going back.
