Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeyI had a wonderful holiday of 5 days in total, hosted by Vangelis and his wife. As soon as I arrived at Pelagia, I was fascinated by the architecture of the building, the beauty of the trees in the garden and the fragrance of the fruits on these trees. When I arrived at Pelagia, Vangelis offered me a delicious homemade lemonade. I stayed in a spotless, fantastic room with a sea view. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom and toilet were clean and hygienic. My room was cleaned regularly every day. All kitchen utensils are available for those who want to cook in the room. The room has a charming balcony where I watched the magnificent sea view every morning when I woke up and where I had breakfast and drank my coffee in the morning. Vangelis and his wife are very kind, gentle, loving and generous. They gave me Samos wine as a gift. One afternoon, when I returned from the beach, I found a plate full of fragrant fresh figs on the table in the room. I always wanted the holiday to continue and wanted to stay in Pelagia. Since I came on foot by public transportation, Vangelis and his son Alexis took care of all my transportation problems, including the taxi and bus I needed to take. While leaving Pelagia, Vangelis offered me a delicious homemade cake and Greek coffee. I want to thank Vangelis and his family for this fantastic holiday, and I strongly recommend Pelagia to anyone who wants a beautiful holiday in Votsalakia. Pelagia is the best hotel here.

AustraliaThe beds were really quite hard. The hosts did not live onsite, so they were not always available to ask questions/for urgent help. It was difficult to access Pythagorio on a day trip via public transport. Taxis were expensive to other parts of the island. No land-based tours were running from Kampos during my stay.
The hosts were friendly, happy and efficient. The place was scrupulously clean. The upstairs apartments had ocean views. It was located near shops, restaurants, bars and the beach.

TurkeyWelcoming was bad, sayıng us we are late. We were with 2 kids, I read from the explanations the rooms were good for family. it is good for adults not for families. We had a shower problems because of low water pressure. Very little water was coming. We had our showers in beaches not in hotel room.
Very quiet place. Big rooms Had a small kitchnette old but has everything in it. İt is renovated but need another renovation. Sea view was very good, we stayed at the third floor. There is very good restaurants near the hotel.

GreeceA. We would prefer better mattresses and a modern TV screen. B. Entrance to the parking is at the middle of the road bending, hence you have to be very careful.
Great landlord, he offered us a plate of figs and grapes almost every day! Very close to seaside and shops. Parking in premises, nice garden to the front and seaview from balcony (1sr floor).

GermanyUnfortunately there was no warm water in our apartment, at no time of the day. The wifi was not working nor did the TV. There were a lot of mosquitoes (unlike all other 4 accomodations we stayed in during our vacation in Samos) and other animals which we couldn't stop from entering the room. There's also no cleaning service or towel changing. This was also different in other accomodations.
Pelagia is a typical, two stores villa, surrounded by olive and lemon trees. The hosts, Vangelis and Maria, are a very sweet and loving couple. Everything was clean, parking spot on property, good location to swim or to reach supermarkets, restaurants, even by foot. It's only a few driving minutes from Ormos which is beautiful to go for dinner and spend a lovely evening. Right across from Pelagia there are two very good restaurants and the sea is beautiful as well. Thank you for your hospitality!
