Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyI loved to be right within a typical Greek village neighborhood, which means Greek music in the evening (from the excellent restaurant right downstairs) and old men chatting in the morning at the kafenion next door.

GermanyWe booked a studio with one double bed and a balcony, expecting a seaview as shown in the pictures (from above). Instead we were given a room on the ground floor with a big table right in front of our window, so we always had people meeting right in front of our door, nice as they were. People walked past our window all the time, so especially in the evening we had to keep the curtains closed, so bye bye seaview... :/ Also our room was crammed with beds, there were 5 in total. Instead of a water cooker we had a stove, but without a pot. The WiFi was nearly nonexistent, though it worked perfectly at the beach. They would have changed our room after I complained, but there was none available... So we made do with what we got.
Really close to the beach, nice flair with the sorrounding village with several shops and inviting restaurants. Umbrella and beach loungers were included, also we had shared use of a big table at the beach. It's a nice place if you want a hostel feeling and meet some people. Our host was friendly, inviting us to a coffee and some food here and there. We could have easily booked boat rides or tours or go diving through our host.

United Kingdomsome instructions to switch on the cooker and hot water would have been helpful when we arrived, instead of having to go back to the office. a dressing table with mirror in the bedroom would be good, and some pictures.

GreeceWe were four people staying in a very small room on the second floor. The room had no chair, because there was literally no room for a chair. I avoided being in the room trying to spend most of my time in the beach, because there was no space for all of us to move in the room. The power supply was awkwardly hung from the ceiling. The room may have been clean, but it sure didn't look that clean.
The village is very quiet and family friendly. Excellent location of the property, right above the sea. The price we paid was definitely low (although the services provided can be rated lower!).

AustriaThe owner overbooked the suite and we had to stay the first night in one of his “studios”. We did not get any compensation for that. He did this intentionally as we heard this happened to other families before. So be careful and avoid this place. The suite afterwards was ok, but too expensive for the comfort.
The balcony of the suite is small but nice

Switzerland- No hot water and saltier than on the smallest islands - They charged us almost 150% of the price we booked at - The bath/room. A shower head and a drain on the floor. Although most of the pictures did not lie, the one with a bathtub did - The very loud taverna downstairs - Drinking from an ashtray. All cups were dirty but I poored my drink in the dirtiest one - Definitely not worth 40€
- The room kinda forces you to get out and enjoy the town - Besides some dirty elements, it was generally clean - When we got back the taverna and bar were closed, it was quiet and we had a decent sleep - There was electricity, fridge - The room was weird but not bad and made us laugh, taky with a charming modesty that we usually like. Had they not messed up the payment and the hot water our experience and review would have been much better Full story: We got to Myrthos because we found this cheap hotel room for 20 € instead of 40. I have to rate it as if it were 40, as we paid 33€ in the end, long story. So we arrived at Paradiso/scuba diving place, entered, didn't see anyone. Outiside, sitting as the scuba diving clerk, THE town drunk tells me to look inside, again, he was so drunk that my greek was better than his. I don't mean to be disrespectful, even if he was just squatting there, he was still more useful and efficient than the others. Inside I yell, "anybody there?". There was actually. Across the room behind tons of scuba gear and laying on a bed, the owner answered and conversed all the while laying on his bed. He finally got up to engage in this conversation : 1) first time in Myrthos? -Yep. 2) Come for scuba diving lessons tomorrow! - No thanks. He lost all interest, got back inside and told us to wait for yet another guy. So the other dude arrives to take us to our room, 100 meters up the street away from the sea. So from the "sea side view" room you can't even guess that there is a sea, you get a poor narrow vista on the street and the taverna bellow, not that I care but the music blasting from the taverna does not allow you to stay in the room for too long. After he showed us how to open the paddle lock to the room that had no door, we discovered the modest room. We don't mind for 20€, but it doesn't compare to any room we ever had.

United KingdomMy only complaint is that the Internet was a little flakey, but since we were on holiday. That is probably not the worst thing.
The host Nico, was there to greet us. We were immediately given the keys to the room and told to settle in. Made us feel welcome and we were given a few helpful hints on places to eat. However with everything as close as it is it is not difficult to find out what places are offering. On a separate note if Nico offers to take you into the mountains for a meal GO.. Was our favourite place of the entire trip
