Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe shower--or really the shower curtain--was a little tricky. But that's really nitpicking.
We had the private apartment. The entire hotel is very picturesque, quaint, and just lovely. Staff was great and had good recommendations for dinner. Cute cat on the property. Unexpectedly, the room came with a bottle of wine and a carafe of either raki or ouzo. Some small snacks too.

CanadaNothing but no elevator so if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues the stairs are narrow and steep. We were in a ground floor room around the back with a perfect little kitchen area.
This was a wonderful old hotel run by the most gracious and helpful hostess who goes out of her way to welcome every guest! So many lovely little gifts and we only stayed 2 nights. Super clean and so many thoughtful details in the most charming part of the old town of Chania.

The hotel is in a beautiful medieval palace, modernised superbly by the owner. The owner was very helpful, and very quick to respond to questions. We would highly recommend Palazzo di Pietro!

United KingdomNothing - loved it.
our room was really unique and spotlessly clean. Eleutheria could not have been more welcoming and helpful with so much knowledge about the property and local area! Our room was on the ground floor with its own private entrance so was very accessible! On arrival we had been given wine, drinks and fruit in the fridge, flowers from Eleutherias own garden! beach towels and slippers were also provided!! Cleaning was done every day and a little treat left for us every day!!! Shower had great pressure and aircon was really effective. it’s in a great location for the bus station, old town and the port and I thoroughly recommend staying here!!

United StatesWish we could have stayed longer!
This place was absolutely beautiful and has such an old world charm. The pictures do not do it justice! Loved the balcony off our suite, looked into the alley of the restaurants below and you can hear all the chatter and plates. It's totally quite once you close the door though. We loved our stay at Palazzo di Pietro. Our host was so sweet and informative of the local history when we arrived. I am very appreciative she accommodated our last minute adjustment when they canceled our ferry. Couldn't be in a better location. Right in the middle of Old Town, great restaurants all around, plenty of shopping. Close enough to walk to the perimeter to be picked up by a taxi or bus. Really easy to rent a vehicle once you are there. Note there are no cars in Old Town. There also isn't an elevator. Not a deal for us, but worth noting for others.

United KingdomNothing.
Loved everything about this hotel, it’s a charming old building and family run. We were in the deluxe double room with a balcony that overlooked the street with restaurants below which was wonderful. We were left a complimentary fruit basket and some drinks. The room had everything we needed and Eleutheria gave us some great recommendations for places to eat. I would love to stay here again and will be recommending it to friends and family!

CanadaEleutheria was an excellent Hostess and extremely informative and interesting and gave us lots of advise and history of her place and area. She was the best!! If you park at Talos Square (which worked out very well for us) walk towards the water and then go around the Venetian Fort Wall (keeping the water to your left) go past many restaurants and turn right at the larger road which I believe is Chalidon (if you go past the 3 or 4 domed building you have gone to far) walk just a little bit until you get to Starbucks. Turn your back to Starbucks and look up the road "Karaoli Ke Dimitriou" walk up the road and take the second alley which is Agion Deka....walk up there and the Hotel is on your left. If you do the Samaria Gorge Hike just walk up to the main bus station and you can purchase your two bus tickets as well as the Ferry ticket right there (made things easy)
