Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandNothing! Everything was great.
Everything! The hotel was clean, and with access to 2 swimming pools. The room was large and very clean. The location is perfect, and taking buses to Chania was very easy. There are parking spaces. Katerina was extremely helpful with everything. Amazing service provided and insider tips on the island. We definitely intend to return!

PolandFridge and air conditioning are the old type, it was difficult to sleep while it was working because of the noise. Pool is open only to 8 pm., but we used it also later (trying not to interrupt anyone) and no one complained about it.
Okeanis II is well-kept place, buildings are restored. Every apartment has small terrace or balcony. Love that around are many plants. It is located close to the beach, also there is many restaurants and caffes around. Would recommend. Very glad that kids are not allowed so it is really quiet and peaceful place.

RomaniaA mosquito net would be vefy useful at the windows and it would be great if towels would be changed more often, not only once a week (especially the one on the floor in front of the shower).
We loved everything - from the size of the room, the size of the bed, the modern aspect of the accomodation, the great swimming pool right outside our room, to the air conditioning feature, fridge in the room, plates and cutlery and private bathroom. It's really close to not one, but four beautiful sandy beaches!! Great restaurants and markets are very close by (50-100m). Everything was awesome! We would definitely like to come back.

AustriaRefrigerator extremely noisy, we had to unplug it during the night. Not enough toiletries, probably we had to ask, but if you are already naked in the shower, well… During three nights stay they didn’t changed the towels, not even the sandy one on the bathroom floor Two AC stations one the balcony (own and nearby room) so you could not really enjoy the balcony due to hot air They withhold the IDs w/out asking - we just realised only at checkout (partially our fault for not noticing, but still..)
Beautiful, lovely, large room. Tasty breakfast with plenty of options. Very close to the beach. Nice pool area.

SerbiaOkeanis is a family run hotel and we felt like we are visiting friends, they were so welcoming, smiling all the time, wiling to assist with all the questions and requirements. The premises are well kept, elegantly furnished, clean. Breakfast is excellent, diverse, tasteful. There is a small pool in Okeanis II and a big one in Okeanis nextdoor. Three wonderful beaches are not more than 5 minutes walk. It takes 10 minutes by car to get to beautiful town Chania. Dear family Stamataki, thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness.

United KingdomRooms weren’t cleaned until late afternoon/evening and a lack of clean towels and toilet paper.
Close proximity to several lovely beaches. A 5k walk to the old town of the city of Chania. Lots of restaurants and convenience shops nearby. Decent breakfast selection. Friendly staff.

United KingdomHaving found a hotel near Chania where pets were allowed, booked a deluxe double room in Okeadis II for 3 nights. Immediately afterwards, received a nasty email from the hotel indicating in capital letters that pets were allowed only if they agreed to it. (Since that correspondence pets are no longer allowed.) Not a good start. Secondly, I was shocked to find myself in the middle of a tourist trap, where everything looked the same. Google maps car navigation did not find the property, and had to call for help. Very disappointed to find out that the nearest beach was far, not in 100 m as advertised, or not even in 300 m as mentioned elsewhere on the page, and that this beach had no sunbed/umbrella combos. Other beaches further away did have sunbeds for 10 e. I got the wrong impression that I had booked a beach hotel (as advertised in the heading) from where I could walk to the beach in my biginis. Very misleading!! The deluxe double room had nothing "de luxe". The staff in the awkwardly arranged food counters in the breakfast room (with no A/C or fan in the 38° C heat) were probably trainees, as every single spoon and sugar had to be requested separately. The small pool in Okeadis II was nice but with no umbrellas over sunbeds. No pool towels anywhere though, as expected. The main building seemed much superior to Okeadis II. In brief, very disappointing end of my long stay on the island. PS. My puppy did not bark even once, slept on the floor, and we did have poo bags, so no harm done!
The room was clean (as long as one didn't look under the bed or other furniture). The small pool (Okeadis II) seemed clean, didn't try the other one.
