Of the islands we visited in Greece, I would return to Koufonisia. It is peaceful and calm compared to the hustle and bustle of the popular islands. Our host picked us up from the ferry dock, he had an app that tracked the ferry so even though our boat was late, he was right on time to get us. The owner was on sight helping manage the property which has been in his family for a long time. The hotel is new however, with all the modern comforts. It was like a paradise walking into the main area with the pool. Our host was so gracious and helped us arrange for laundry service. Breakfast was a highlight and a joy. The night before they provide a sheet with all kinds of options for you to select from. We didn't realize it would be so much food so we ordered a little too much the first morning. But the options were great! Omelet, bacon, yogurt, honey, croissant, chocolate croissant, dessert of the day, fruit, bread, marmalade, coffee, milk, juice, and cheeses. They buy it fresh every morning. It was generous and delicious. You can choose to dine in the room or by the pool. We choose the pool because it was so peaceful. In the evening the host offered us a free glass of local honey raki to drink and enjoy the sunset. It was the best raki we had on the trip and we went to find it at the grocery store later. it's our favorite souvenir to share with friends back home. The property manager helped us make reservations at a local fish restaurant, which was worthwhile. It's obvious a lot of thought and care went into making the experience of the hotel comfortable and charming. I would like to visit again just for the hotel experience. On check out, they held our luggage so we could explore the town while waiting for our ferry in the afternoon. We hung out by the pool for a few hours as well, even though we had checked out, they made us feel welcome by providing pool towels so we could sit with our feet in the pool.

The staff at Nysis were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. They go the extra mile to make you feel at home by offering their recommendations, welcome drink to cool down, providing beach towels and umbrellas when you are off to the beach not to mention the beautiful breakfast and cheerful vibe. We would highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back!

This is a beautiful hotel located close to the port, beaches and main town. The owner Panos is soo lovely and accomodating. Him and his staff were so helpful with dinner, beach and shopping recommendations. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable beds and pillows!

Small new hotel with excellent service, really clean, walking distance to the center, with pickup and drop off at the port. The room was spacious, with a nice terrace, and with breakfast delivered to the room every morning. The pool and adjacent bar was a perfect addition to our stay.

This property is simply stunning. Quiet, peaceful and absolutely beautiful. The location, quality of the rooms and pool were prefect and of the highest quality. Panayioti and Maria were incredible hosts and most welcoming. We had an amazing 4 days on Koufounisi and would not consider staying anywhere else but at Nysis Koufonisia.

Nysis turned out to be a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are modern, CLEAN, and thoughtfully laid out, but still have traditional Cycladic features like a large balcony. We weren't sure if we would like the location, but it turned out to be great - right in between the beaches and the town. We were able to see the water from our balcony and see the sunset over the town from the pool. The presentation of the breakfast was lovely - it felt like a treat every morning to receive a basket and hot coffees at our door at the time we requested. When there was a (short-lived) power outage due to the wind, the staff accommodated us by offering substitute food items. People could also eat comfortably by the pool if they wanted to be with other guests. But what made our stay exceptional was the warm hospitality of Maria and Panayiotis (the owners), and their staff, especially Sophia. They are clearly passionate about creating a good experience for their guests, and were helpful and available around the clock. I have stayed in other places in Koufonisia where I hesitated to reach out to the owners by text if I needed something, but Maria made sure we didn't hesitate to reach out, right from the start. We hope to have the opportunity to return!

Breakfast was somewhat limited but we understand the limitations in the smaller sized hotels. It would be great to have the option to order breakfast from local restaurants.

The staff was very friendly and professional. We were greeted at the port and were given a lift to the hotel which was very convenient. The room was very modern and well designed. The room had excellent facilities to keep ourselves cool. The bathroom/shower was excellent with room for two. Everything was clean. We wishe we could have stayed longer!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. Martina, the manager/host is very hospitable and keen to make everything a nice experience The accommodation is new, a nice size room and has a lovely view down to the town and is about a 15 min walk. Breakfast on the balcony with a great selection. The pool is lovely to cool down after returning from the walk to the reaches We loved Koufonisia, hope it doesn't get too busy and commercial Highly recommend NYSIS
