Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaTV and Wi-Fi reception was poor. But it made for nice nights on the balcony watching the sun go down listening to the city.
Room was deluxe, (802), amazing view. Huge room. Nicely finished. Hotel is aged, but like most things in Greece it could do with updating. Overall the Wi-Fi never worked but I came for a break, and the disconnect was welcomed. Staff superb, the elevators were a little sketchy. Loved the architecture and style of the place. Felt like we were in a James Bond movie. Loved it.

GreeceThe rooms were large and spacious but generally looked aged and tired - in dire need of a makeover. Indeed the televisions too were old and the screens small. There were also major issues with the wifi which was very inconsistent - indeed more off than on! There are issues with lifts from the hotel to the town - three lifts but only one working whilst we were there and that one was damaged on one of the evenings.
The location of the hotel was excellent and the views from the rooms and pools spectacular. The beds were large and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful but seemed to have to be always sorting difficulties - see below!

AustraliaAs above. They have ruined it. Weird light switching from the 90s… took me 30mins to switch off all the lights so I could go to sleep. They tried to put us in a room where the minibar fridge was sitting on its own at the front door… this is a room with a private pool that was costing more than 1000 euros a night… it was all wrong. The delight and mystery of staying in a hotel was totally lost here.
We have stayed here many times before Covid and it was one of our favourite places due to the high quality and the beautiful 1850s/1960s architecture and artworks/ sculptures. The reception area and terrace was our favourite part of the hotel. This whole area was closed and instead a tiny makeshift reception area was shoved in a little room amongst the accommodation. It was so sad. Weird laminated signage was stuck on the dry pressed stone walls. It looked so bad. We paid so much money and felt completely ripped off but we didn’t want to spoil our holiday. The wifi only worked in one of our rooms after we begged and begged and they finally brought us dongle. Our second room never had wifi. Breakfast was fine and staff were nice. The guy who parked our car was super grumpy - probably because we didn’t tip him.

United KingdomI was disappointed that the WiFi wasn't working all weekend.. that was a real issue for us. Also for the rate I paid, I would expect conditioner in the bathroom.
Lovely views from a beautiful room. It was great to have the lift to the town.

AustraliaIt’s a 70’s White Elephant Fortress, which I believe may be a collaboration between Dr Evil and Mr Iwasaki (who created one in Yeppoon in the 70’s … that’s in Australia). The escape lift to the secret underground tunnel (that gets you to Town easily enough) is impossible to find without George. And it’s spooky at night. The lift took 20 minutes downwards toward the Earth’s core, before the lift doors opened. I thought I would either become entomb -ed forever or end up in the death zone. As you finally exit the secret escape lift, you may be confronted by drug addled youths evading any and all eye contact getting into the lift? Strange … yes, but at least they weren’t threaten ing. It was the strange feeling of a colony of vampire bats attacking any second that unnerved me. The amoun t of unrecognisable, useless electric switches and other pointless unworkable, incomprehensible stuff in your room (all from one of my favour ite bygone era’s, beggars belief). It may cost the term of your natural life to work out how to turn off the lights. V expensive but it’s hilarious.
The view … unbelievable! From any- where you care to look. George, the Porter (who is an Engineer but prefers this kind of work when the season for Tourists is higher) … he’s an absolute legend. A beautiful human and worth getting to know. Hanging around the pool when I have a hangover. It’s a 70’s White Elephant Fortress, which I believe may be a collaboration between Dr Evil and Mr Iwasaki.

GreeceI have visited Nafplia Palace several times and it's always disappointing to see that there are still some issues that have not been fixed. For example, the TV in our villa, a very expensive Bang & Olufsen bought 20 years ago, was barely working with digital TV stations so we had to ask for another TV. The "famous" puzzle with electric switches everybody is talking about. Our villa had over 60 electric switches which are supposed to provide advanced functionality but nobody knows what exactly they do (or not). Some of them are working and others are not and none have some kind of label that indicates what kind of lights you control. Breakfast is good but it could be better. The main building, which was not open this year, has not been renovated. The elevators that take you down to the city are dirty and two of the three ones were out of order. That’s’ why I consider Nafplia Palace to be a very good hotel instead of being a great one, especially for that price range. Still, I believe it’s better than anything else in Nafplio
The location is fantastic, the best you can have in Nafplio. Staff were extremely helpful and eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Our villa was spacious with amazing view.
