Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs the hotel is central located, close to many bars and restaurants it can be quite loud at night, even with the windows and shutters closed.
Lovely hotel in the centre of Chania old town. Easy walking distance to the harbour and other attractions. Friendly and helpful staff who were very welcoming and gave me loads of great recommendations. Comfortable bed, modern bathroom, rooms was cleaned regularly during my stay.

RomaniaI already knew that, so I can't complain, but have in mind the place doesn't have an elevator and the top floor room (4th floor) where I stayed didn't have a balcony and it got very hot inside throughout the day, we mostly kept the AC on.
The location is right in the heart of the city, 2 minutes top to the old venetian port, surrounded by a lot of places to eat, drink or buy souvenirs. The staff was very nice, took the time to give us little insides to the best places for greek food and crystal blue waters beaches.

United KingdomA small suggestion is to add another bin in the room as there is only one in the whole room which is located in the bathroom. And perhaps add a shelf or two in the bathroom but that's all :)
My stay in the Morfeas hotel was beyond amazing! Amalia is such a wonderful, kind and genuine host. The day I arrived, she checked me in and when she realised it's my first time in Crete she brought a map and started marking down where I should go (beaches) and which places to eat in for breakfast and dinner and even recommending cocktail bars to go to in the evening. And what was even more refreshing every morning while you are leaving the hotel you would see her father Odysseus in the reception smiling and waving at you and just makes your morning everyday. It didn't feel like a hotel but felt more like staying in a family home. And location wise, you can't be in the heart of the centre more than this, you are literally in the heart of everything that is going on in Chania and also 5 minutes walk to the bus station if you prefer not to rent a car and use the buses. And the wifi connection was actually super great and strong! Amalia and her father are the loveliest people you will meet in Crete. Thank you for being such a great host.

United KingdomIt’s not necessarily related to the property itself, because the old town of Chania has a big problem with parking, and due to the structure of the town and the buildings being old, they can’t have parking areas provided to the visitors. But yes, parking was a problem, although you won’t find a hotel in the old town that won’t have the same problem.
The room was beautiful, exactly like in the pictures! It was well equipped with blow dryer, iron, big wardrobe, toiletries, room was cleaned daily and towels changed daily too. Throughout our stay, we met the owner of the hotel who was such a lovely gentleman. Not only he made us feel very welcome, but also tried to guide us what places to visit. The location was perfect, right in the centre of the old town and all the amenities where 2-10mins walk. I could not recommend this hotel enough. On our next visit we are definitely staying there
