Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesThe place was amazing. The police station was right beside it, a very safe place. A very good value for the money as well. Short walking distance to the nearest metro station (Omonia). The breakfast is varied and tastes good. Worth my stay! Would recommend this place.

United KingdomOnly issue is that the room frequently smelt of sewage, coming from the drains in the bathroom. When reported we were told that is just the way it is and nothing could be done really :( The staff were very attentive about this though.
Lovely staff, breakfast is good and the rooms are comfortable and clean - the price makes it even better :)

United StatesProperty was nice, but the first two nights we were in a room where we could not get the temperature below uncomfortably warm with no real windows (the one window opened to an interior space) and there staff was not helpful. We also had a shower with no door or curtain so the bathroom floor was completely wet and dangerously slippery. Staff was unsympathetic. Finally got us moved to a room with a balcony which was a relief. That room was small but nice. Beds were great, linens were nice. The staff changed and our last two (of four) days were better. The shower also had a glass door (surprise!). If you book here, be very specific that you must have a balcony and a room with a shower curtain or door.
The breakfast was amazing! So many choices and everything fresh and delicious!

New ZealandThe immediate area around the hotel is run down but that’s a city authority problem. There are some fantastic bakeries close by but restaurants choices are limited and no bars except in the hotels. Very handy to the excellent metro system.
It was nice and clean and well serviced by the staff. The breakfast spread was very good with a wide selection. We had a small problem with our shower but it was soon sorted by relocating rooms.

AustraliaThe surrounding area is rundown and could do with a good cleaning. Police Station next door.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the concierge and every assistance was provided. While the area is not brilliant the hotel was new and close to rail, bus, sightseeing and restaurants/bakeries. While our room was not overly large it was suitable to our needs, clean, comfortable bed and adequate bathroom. Good value for the price.

AustriaBreakfast was good but the restaurant ladies were rather reluctant to clean the table in front of you and asked to look for the other tables that are clean.
The area looked a bit dodgy at first sight, but the hotel is very central and right near the subway, so it is very convenient

United KingdomAlthough its quite close to a metro station so there is easy access to the whole city, the location itself is not ideal - its in a rather shabby part of the city and I would have felt uncomfortable walking to it alone.

AustraliaThe smell in the room.... I'm not sure if it was an odour neutraliser or disinfectant, but it was really strong and could smell it all night. Also, the lifts could only for 3 people work no luggage or 2 with a suitcase each and there were only 2 lifts so during breakfast and check out time, it was just crazy!!
Clean room friendly staff reasonable price lovely breakfast.

IrelandClean hotel with nice staff. Plenty of variety for breakfast. 3 minute walk to metro. 25 minute walk to Acropolis with lots of great restaurants along the way. The street the hotel is on is fine, it's the next street over that's dodgy with derelict buildings. Other than that it's a nice location.
