Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkOne day the towels were not changed, which was a shame as we needed new ones.
We liked the location in the middle of the city, and at the same time close to the beach. We enjoyed the room and the roof terrace which was good for enjoying the sun, playing games etc. And then everyone was so helpful and nice in the place!

Austriasuper central and still quite silent at night in the lovely heart of Chania. small room but clean and organised. and the best thing is really the close distance to the lively old city center with its harbor and lighthouse and all the nice places to hang out.

United StatesWould have been nice to have ability to make coffee or tea. An electric kettle set up would allow enjoyment on the terrace in the morning. Travelers with mobility issues might also find the stairs a problem but this is not uncommon for era of building. Lastly, as these are rooms not a hotel perse with common space it might be more suitable for independent travelers. Though more rooftop congregation could be fostered by the coffee option.
IMEROS is perfectly located one block behind the harbor. It is very clean, simply decorated and has an excellent rooftop terrace. There is a small fridge in the room which is also nice. Quiet rooms and soundproof windows were great. Owner/manager is off site but on premises for part of each day and prompt with online communication.

DenmarkWe were very satisfied😍
Imeros I have nothing but good things to say about Imeros In July/August 2023. The owner came to meet us and let us in and take us round the property and hand us the key even though we arrived around midnight. The rooms were beautiful and super, super spot less. The rooms are cleaned every 2 days where towels and bedsheets are changed. The roof top with its pretty flowers and sunny colours was a pleasure to use as an extra ‘living’ room. The Venitian fortress and sea can be enjoyed from this vantage point. The owner Ioanis allowed us an extra bed (at no extra charge)to accommodate our older daughter who joined us later. I had accidentally assumed a wrong occupancy capacity. The location is very central. The main door opens into the busy streets with lots of cafes, restaurants, shops, pottery, etc. Very, very exciting! The harbour is few minutes walk away with plenty of restaurants. I loved that they responded or called back very fast when we communicated with them- both before and during our stay with them. We used the Nea Hora beach which is about 15 minutes walk away through the beautiful cobbled streets. It is in a very safe area as well!

IsraelDemitrios was very helpful and responsive to our needs. He helped us carry our luggage up the stairs, he supplied us with towels for the beach, he let us stay a few hours more when our flight was delayed, and he arranged us a taxi to the airport. I really appreciated all of that.

GermanyVery friendly and helpful manager. Even at very high temperatures comfortable due to AC and the beautiful roof garden. Perfectly situated in the heart of the old town. We can not confirm that the hotel is loud (like others wrote), also in the evening with street musicians nearby it was perfectly silent.

I stayed here for a week choosing a single room. It was my first solo travel and so I was concerned about choosing a centrally located housing solution so I wouldn't have to walk too far at night alone. Imeros was the perfect solution: it is located in front of the ancient port, very few minutes from the center and about a ten-minute walk to the nearest beach. Nearby are stores, restaurants, cafeteria and mini markets. Considering the price, I am convinced that there is no room in such an ideal location. As for the room, it is very spartan but it has everything you need: a bed, a television, a bathroom with a nice shower (except for the curtain, rather uncomfortable but I understand that given the price of the room). There is no elevator but it was not a problem, at the front desk they helped me with my luggage. This is a living arrangement where you will have to be rather self-sufficient, in fact there is no real front desk and in fact there is never anyone there. This means that every time I had to communicate with the staff, I did it through booking. For me this is actually an advantage because it allowed me to have the most complete freedom, without having to be subject to strict rules such as having to leave the keys at the front desk. The facility is quiet, informal and perfectly represents what I want when I travel. If what you are looking for is simply a place to stay, Imeros IS really the ideal solution and I would especially recommend it if you are alone or in a couple. The central location will mean that you will hear some noise from outside in the evenings but that is not a problem for me. I also want to emphasize the kindness of the staff: it is true that I could not communicate with them much but they were always helpful even when requested for changes. To conclude, the room is very clean and there is also a mini fridge.
