Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing really. They already do a fantastic job. I even saw the owner wiping down some chairs.
The staff were great. We were offered a pickup and drop off by Dimitris Lianos the owner at no extra cost and the Driver also Dimitris was a very friendly guy with lots of tips for us. The breakfast was exceptional and everyday we would get two pieces of cake left in our rooms after clean up. The view from the dinning area of the Temple and the sea was fantastic. The hotel was a few minutes walk away from the shops, restaurants, Port and bus station for tours.Highly recommended. They also have an Aussie at the front desk by the name of Connie who is from Melbourne. Such a friendly lady of Greek descent. Loved this place.

United StatesA slightly larger room; slightly better bathroom laylout - the shower / door was not ideal . We loved the rooftop lounge area, but having a littlw more shade would have been great.
The best part of this hotel is the staff. They are so friendly and go out of their way to help. The breakfast is outstanding. There are so many homemade sweet and savory delicious options, and the coffee was also excellent too. The location is close to the port where you can shop and have plenty of choices for lunch and dinner. The bed was excellent - even more comfortable then the one we had at coco mat in athens.

United Statesnothing bad to say!
hotel grotta is "outside" of the main town of chora, but really it's right there - you walk down a dirt path, it's easy Chora is AWESOME and this property was convenient and quiet. The bed was comfortable, A/C worked well, the breakfast spread was INCREDIBLE. They coordinated (free!) transport from the port and Connie helped us get settled at the hotel, even offered us a glass of wine when we arrived! They also gave you free water which was great. Our only regret is that we didn't stay here the whole time! We wound up renting a car, driving around and staying on Plaka Beach for 2 nights but would have preferred renting a car, using Grotta as our destination and exploring from there (they have free parking). Stay here!

United StatesIt's hard to find something bad to say about this place, honestly. I suppose it would be hard to find parking repeatedly, if that's an issue?
This place is really special - staff are all incredibly helpful and friendly, the property is beautiful and has a great view, and of course the breakfast is exceptional. We couldn't stop talking about how much we loved it.

SlovakiaThe whole hotel was super clean at all times, the cleaning ladies were doing an exceptional job. We had fresh towels and bed sheets everyday!!! On top of that we had a different cake waiting for us in our room everyday! The staff were always smiling and eager to help us whenever we needed something. We got driven from the port to the hotel on the way there and we also got a drive to the port when we were leaving, all free of charge. The view from the hotel was breathtaking and we enjoyed it everyday while eating breakfast on the terrace. The hotel was in a quiet area, so we could get enough sleep every night. At the same time, it was just a few minutes down the road to the main promenade with all the shops and restaurants. I definitely want to come back to this hotel and recommend it to everyone who is considering coming to Naxos. Efcharistó and yassas!

The breakfast is one of the best ever had at a hotel stay being so home-made still dreaming about it. The view is spectacular and just far away to not hear all the noise from Chora up on the hill. The staff are fantastic and really make you feel at home. I loved it all!!

United KingdomIt was faultless - we liked it all
First and foremost - "location, location, location" for the best sunset view you could wish for. The hotel is located a short walk from Naxos town, some of which is an unmade pathway up a hill (not suitable for the infirm). However, it is worth is for the views. All the staff were so friendly and happy to answer any questions, give you some recommendations if needed. They also arranged our care hire which was excellent value. The breakfast spread is magnificent, beyond all you could wish for to start your day. The variety of cakes, tarts, pies, meats and fruits offered every day was outstanding. They also have a food menu for the evening - we ate here a couple of evenings and it was all delicious. The were also little touches such as a cake being left for us in our room every afternoon, as well as a complimentary bottle of wine part way through our week's stay. Provision of beach towels was also a huge bonus.
