Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeyThe building was old, no elevator. Hot water is limited, I couldnt have a shower in the morning.
The room was located near the centre. We could park at the square very near the room. The grandfather of the landlord who had a shop down the room was so sweet with little English. And it is a must to visit his shop. Wifi worked well.

GermanyThere was some long, blonde hair in the shower drain and the bathroom sink tap was leaking. Bed was shorter than the standard 2m, which may be an issue for taller people. Everything else was clean and nice though
Nice room, self-checkin. We could leave our bags in the shop below the rooms after checkout and communication with the host was quick, friendly and easy.

GermanyWifi reception isn't the best or most reliable; the router is located downstairs in Demetris' grandfather's shop, and I had to ask to have the router reset twice. The room also doesn't get much natural light.
Excellent location in the center of Kalambaka, not far from the trailhead leading to Agia Triada and Agios Stefanos monasteries. I felt safe with an entrance that leads to only two separate private rooms. Rooms are small, but clean and well-kept. Demetris' grandfather was friendly and kind with checking in.

GermanyThe last of the bars and restaurants mentioned above do not close till 1 AM. You won't get an early and quiet night here. The only light in the room is an old energy-saving lamp with at stark white-blue light. Fine to wake up the morning, but terrible to go to sleep to at night.
Next to the property on the same street there are 4 to 5 bars and restaurants with outside dining areas. So you don't have to walk far to get a good meal or drink. The central square is not far away and the path to the monastries is just at the end of the street. On the ground floor there is a shop which belongs to the same family, so you can leave the luggage there. And the host was very friendly.

United StatesMy room faced the street. There is quite a lot of noise from traffic, which the old window has little chance of protecting against.
Everything was nice, tidy and efficient. Nice owner, though with minimal English skills.

GermanyThe air conditioning had a few problems, and didn't work as well as we'd hoped.
The TV was very modern and well equipped with a lot of different options such as YouTube and Netflix to choose from. There was a lovely home-style restaurant right next door, and it was only about a 10 minute walk from the train station and to the nearest hiking trail. And although not advertised, we could see parts of the mountains from our balcony, which was a nice surprise.

Czech RepublicThere was a market throughout the whole street in the morning so it was quite noisy.
We liked the staff. Awesome was that we could leave our baggage in the shop beneath the room that is owned by owners father for a whole day after our stay ended. The room was clean and there was even a fridge. It was also very cheap.

AustraliaMy only concern was the outside noise at night - the property is next to a restaurant, so it can sometimes get a bit noisy until about 11-12 o'clock at night.
The property is well-located, about a 5-10 minute walk from the hiking trail to Holy Trinity Monastery. It is also a 2 minute walk away from some good restaurants and grocery stores, and 5 minutes away from fast food (gyros/pizza) if you are so inclined. There are also some cheap laundry services in town about 5 minutes walk away. Check-in online was very helpful, and the gentleman in the shop below (the owner's grandpa) was extremely friendly and helpful and spoke English, French, and Greek - he will let you store bags in his shop pre/post checking, if you need. Make sure you get him a biscuit, I think he likes biscuits! Facilities are basic, but for the price point and for my needs (hiking Meteora solo for 2 days) everything was perfectly fine.

ItalyEverything was good comparing with the price. Outside there was a little of noise but we slept the same (and the fault if someone else outside the building is making noise, is not of the owner). Artemis was very nice. I really appreciated all the informations and advice.
