Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe pool is a combination of salt water and chlorine, due to my eczema, I broke out into a rash the first day and couldn’t use the pool the rest of the week. The pool should be either salt or chlorine, both is dangerous and unpleasant.
The restaurant was really nice, lots of variety and good quality food

BelgiumThe only thing perhaps that was not ideal was that the pool was a salt water pool. But I suppose on the other hand that's more sustainable...
Clean and beautiful hotel with super (child) friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay a lot, the food was really good.

United KingdomNot enough sun loungers by the pool for the size of the hotel, adding even just another 6-8 would make a difference. The food & drinks were lovely , but quite pricey compared to eating in equally nice places outside the hotel. Cleanliness of rooms could be improved by housekeeping. Don’t think floors were swept (or swept well) in the 8 days we were there. Gym pretty basic & not the cleanest (no wipes/ sprays provided to clean equipment after use) Spa customer service not great, left several messages to try and book in massages and they never got back to us , so we didn’t get to book in in the end. When we arrived we were put in a room I’d never even seen advertised on their website or booking.com and it certainly wasn’t the room we booked. We booked a garden view room, which also had a lounge area etc. The room we were put in was a small corner room with no garden view, looked into a roof, and no lounge area - very basic. Again, I’ve never seen this kind of room advertised and none of their pictures are like this. We complained but had to stay one night in the wrong room and we were moved to an appropriate room more alike to what we had booked around midday the following day, which was lovely. It just shouldn’t have happened in the first place especially when we’d booked the room months ago.
Friendly staff, especially in the bar & restaurant area. Rooms decorated tastefully, and lovely pool area. Excellent food in poolside restaurant and really great cocktails

United KingdomStunning hotel! Really nice chilled vibe about it. The room was really spacious & modern. We had a Garden View room on the 1st floor but could still see the sea from our balcony. The pool and bar area were so lovely, with extra sunbeds available. The staff were always super helpful and friendly. Great location- it’s about a 20 min walk down into Elounda which we did each night for dinner. Would definitely recommend and come back!

United KingdomI missed a full length mirror in the room. The hotel sits on large grounds and there are rooms that will be very quiet. We stayed in a garden view room at the front which was beside the road and car park so meant there was often noise. It didn’t impact me much but it impacted my partners quality of sleep. The location is quite far out of Elounda centre but it we enjoyed the walk as long as it wasn’t too hot.
The hotel is beautiful, well kept and clean. The cocktails and drinks at the bar are lovely. The room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels. The hotel left a fruit bowl, a card and cava in the room for our arrival (free of charge) because the holiday was for a special birthday. The sunbathing space at the pool area is lovely although quite small. We spent a lot of time sunbathing on the grass area with the “spare sun beds” but I didn’t mind this. There are numerous rooms that have sun loungers on the terrace/balcony but we didn’t book this type of room. There is table tennis and pool along with a small playground for children. We enjoyed played table tennis and pool. The hotel also set up a “cinema” to watch the Olympics at night. There is lots of seating at the pool bar (tables, couches, lounge chairs). There is potential there to have more sun loungers and less tables.

FranceBreakfast was of average quality. Some of the facilities require updates. Service also could be taken there one up.
This was a pleasant hotel and our room was the corner family room with the largest private pool so that was a good thing. The pool had too much chemicals so obviously obviously better maintenance would be required.

IrelandOur highly anticipated final five days in Greece were marred by significant issues at the hotel. We had booked the most expensive room, promising adjoining family rooms with private pools, as we were travelling with our young teenage children. Upon arrival, the receptionist's dismissive behaviour was immediately off-putting. The situation worsened when we discovered the allocated rooms were not as booked, with no apology or explanation offered (we were simply brought to rooms which were not an adjoining family suite as booked). Despite relocating rooms the following day, the overall service remained substandard, culminating in a final checkout where the original receptionist avoided us entirely. Our attempts to address these issues with management were met with complete silence despite multiple emails and messages requesting the manager's contact info all of which were ignored. This lack of response is unacceptable and a clear reflection of the hotel's poor customer service.

AustraliaI booked a classic garden view room and when I checked in was given an unrenovated room. This wasn’t specified when I made the booking or on the website so I felt a little deceived. It was a completely different aesthetic and quality of the room to what I signed up for. I made a complaint to the front desk and Nikoleta was extremely understanding and helpful. The next day I was upgraded to a sea view room which was much nicer. We checked out early (6am) and got told off for not giving them a heads up. The man at front desk was rude, but I understand I could have given them a heads up the night before. I just thought it being a 4-star hotel that front desk would be manned 24hrs BUT that’s on me.
Overall a nice property, lovely pool and bar area with great views. Service was hit and miss. Location was remote (but can easily book a cab to town via reception).

United KingdomWe checked in late at night after a long journey. We were put into a classic room when we had paid for a superior bungalow which was disappointing. As nothing could be done that late to change things, we were offered an upgraded room the next day which had it's own pool. It was spacious with a lovely outlook, but the bed was a king and not the twin beds we'd booked. The room didn't have blackout curtains/blinds, so we woke with the sunrise. The air conditioner was challenged for the size of the room.
The location is lovely set about a 15 minute walk from the sea and the town of Elounda. The food was excellent, delicious and sourced locally. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

United KingdomIdeally we'd have liked to have been within easier walking distance of other restaurants. It is a reasonable walk into Elounda, downhill into town but therefore uphill for the return home. Having said that we ate from the a la carte menu at the hotel on three evenings and enjoyed the experience.
The buffet breakfast was excellent with a great choice on offer. Also on all days bar one there was fresh omelettes being made. Our room was spacious with a private pool which was fabulous as we were not affected by the claiming of sun beds around the main pool from early in the day! The outdoor lounge and bar areas were wonderful and the team of looking after us were friendly and efficient.
