Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis hostel is located in a lovely quiet part of the city. The staff are incredibly friendly and it's full of very social travellers as well. The beds aren't bunks but the top one is individually mounted to the wall making them less prone to moving every time someone else moves and super comfy. There are also lovely homely communal areas for the dorms. A perfect place to stop in thessaloniki

United StatesThe location is beautiful on the one hand but very hard to manage due to it being very high up a hill and Thessaloniki's terrible bus system. I highly suggest downloading moovit app (the times aren't correct but it will tell you how to go). DO NOT attempt using google maps, they are terribly misleading.
Super clean Great spaces to hang out with other travelers Extremely large rooms Amazing staff

Best hostel I've ever been. The staff is amazing, they are beautiful people and the whole place is beautiful too. They take very good care of the place. They clean the rooms once every day and every common space at least two times a day. Everything is set up to make you feel comfortable. I really appreciate the way they take care of you and I will be back soon for sure.

FinlandCurtains on the beds would've made it perfect. Also the location on the hill may be a problem for some. Bus stops only a few minute walk away though.
Comfy bed, everything was clean, good & cheap wine, spacious kitchen, very friendly staff. The view from the hill next to the hostel is amazing.

BulgariaI enjoyed the location of the hostel situated in the upper neighbourhood of Thessaloniki with narrow, paved streets and lot of stairs which I find to be so authentic. There is no need to mention that is next to the Triangle Tower and Byzantine walls. Also the hostel gives you cozy feeling and literally I felt like I’m home. Thanks a lot to the lady on the reception upon check in who provided me with information how to reach easily Ktel Halkidiki and Ktel Macedonia from the hostel using public bus! I strongly recommend it and will be back!

Czech RepublicThe location is uphill from the city, and buses aren't always on time. So you'll likely need to walk into the main part of the city. It isn't such a long walk, but depending on the time of the year (the sun is intense and it's of course hot in Greece in the summer) you'll need to plan what times of day you venture out for the walk. It's nothing unexpected if you've been in hot regions before, but it isn't always pleasant to make the walk when the sun is most harsh.
I stayed in an all-female room, and it felt like staying in an apartment. Very spacious, great beds, very clean, and good AC (which is necessary in the summer after exploring all day). I think the room I stayed in must have been fairly recently renovated. It was the best room I've had in as long as I can remember. It's also pretty easy to get to the location from the train station. You only need to take one bus, and it drops you less than five minutes from the hostel.

The hostel is very nice and clean, personnel is amazing, very friendly, and ready to help. The women's room is separate and has its bathroom, shower, and air conditioning.

TurkeyEverything was perfect.
The hostel is really warm and peaceful. It was really difficult to find free parking area. You should note that if you are coming by car. The owner of the hostel greets you when you arrive. There is a box with a key for your stuff, but you may find that small if you have a lot of stuff. You can use the kitchen freely according to the rules. The bathroom and toilet were really clean. You can choose to stay here and meet different and amazing people

Very nice hostel. The staff was super kind, helpful and flexibel with any request. The women’s dorm is really spacious, upstairs they have a kitchen, living room and café. For people searching a little more relaxed, I definitely recommend staying there instead of the city center (which you can easily reach by walking down the hill 20 min. or by bus).
