Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaLots of stairs getting to Catsrum and they are steep in some spots. That being said, it is manageable and SO worth it once you get to there. The staff offered to take our bags up which is a helpful option. The distance is not far, just incline due to the hill the hotel is on. My husband and I are in average shape and it was no problem for us, but something to be aware of.
The sunset here is breathtaking and pictures don’t do it justice! We had the deluxe suite that had a balcony facing the sunset which we would highly recommend. Our favourite part was sitting there morning and evening. So relaxing and the surrounding area was quiet at night. The room itself is spacious and decorated nicely and very clean. The staff were very helpful and kind. There is no reception desk but Ania was very responsive over the phone.

United StatesThere are a lot of steps you have to walk up in order to get to Castrum. As long as you're prepared for this, you should be good.
Staff was very accommodating when things came up. The view was breathtaking. A perfect and private spot to watch the sunset, so you don't have to deal with the crowds. The little touches, such as robes, slippers and juice in fridge, made us feel welcome and pampered.

HungaryThe house is situated in the most beautiful spot, offering the opportunity to watch incredible sunsets right from your own private space. It was an absolutely magical experience every evening! The hosts were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing. They assisted us with everything from car rentals to restaurant recommendations and even arranged boat trips for us. Their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable and totally stress-free. The apartment itself is very new and beyond beautiful. It combines modern amenities with traditional Greek style. While the path leading to the house is upwards, it's really nothing to worry about. The steps are easy to manage, and if needed, the hosts are more than willing to help with bringing baggage to the house. Overall, I highly recommend this apartment in Plaka. The location, the hosts, and the beautiful accommodations make it a perfect choice for anyone looking to experience the best of Milos. We can't wait to return!

Best view you can ever get in Milos! Will never forget 270 degree panorama ocean view from the bed

United Arab EmiratesThe location of this hotel is at the top of the hill which can’t be reached by car and is steep in some areas. If you have a problems walking or are extremely unfit then it wouldn’t be suitable. It is hard work but defo worth it if you are capable. The other issue which I’m not sure is a problem for much of the year is the wind. Obviously uncontrollable by the owners but the wind does howl through the shutters/windows as it’s a very old building and within keeping. I would just suggest taking some ear plugs if it’s supposed to be windy during your stay for when you sleep. We stayed in June.
The view is stunning! I imagine it is the best view from a hotel in Milos. The apartment itself was beautiful. The decor is done perfectly. We actually used the kitchen to cook a nice dinner with a bottle of wine and watch the sunset from the balcony. It was actually one of the highlights of our trip. The apartment was spotless!!! The cleaners do a real good job cleaning and they was super friendly it was always a pleasure saying hello as they have the biggest smiles on their faces. It’s located in Plaka which is probably the nicest area of Milos, a lovely old town village that gives Santorini/mykonos vibes. There are a few lovely restaurants, one of them seems to dominate the whole area, foods ok nothing special tho. If we ever return to Milos we will definitely book to stay here again! It’s incredible value and pure beauty.

United StatesIt would get hot at night, but with fans and keeping some windows open, it was doable.
The sunset was our favorite part about this place. we were at Santorini before that and saw the sunset as well there, but this one was magical and something else! We felt like we were staying at a castle at the top of the hill. Even though we had to walk up 55 steps with our luggage to get to our room, it was very worth it! Also, Frank was very helpful and friendly. He offered help with our luggage and gave us a bottle of local red wine to drink while watching the sunset.

SpainBecause of the staircaise walk to Castrum maybe it is not the best place to stay for anyone who has difficulty climbing hills or steps. There is no air-conditioning, only a ceiling fan that it's not enough for the hottest nights in the island. The closures on the windows and balcony doors do not fit properly and when it's windy (frequently in Milos) makes an annoying noise.
Surely this place has the most stunning views in Milos! Try to stay at the deluxe doble room with sea view, it's the best! You will enjoy of the enchanting sunsets here... an unforgetable experience! These old building at the castle hill has been recently renovated with the charming cyclacid style that makes it unique. Besides its gorgeus views to the Aegean Sea and Plaka itself, what I like the most in the room is its elegant vintage bed. Despite all the stairs we had to climb our stay was very comfortable and we would come back for sure!

United StatesFor me not an issue, but some might have an issue with a climb (50+ steps). The host/staff helped with luggage. So again not an issue for us.

United StatesThere is nothing to dislike here. I would caution anyone who has difficulty climbing hills or stairs to look at the rooms carefully to make sure you will be comfortable getting up to the building and to your room in the building.
This place has a spectacular view and it is located in a converted 19th century castle that is charming and authentic. The feel is rustic with modern amenities and a very tasteful renovation.

SwitzerlandBeware the door height if you’re tall (I‘m 188cm). Steep ladder from/to bed in our room can be challenging.
One word: view!!! Not just any accommodation but an experience. Very new, lovely renovated room in one of the oldest buildings on the island. Unbeatable sunsets in perfect tranquility and privacy. Little kitchen with some free water, bread and jam at arrival. Few minutes to town by foot. Don’t be suspicious about the few comments, it’s just brand-new.

United StatesEverything was great. Given the stunning view, it is a quick three-minute walk uphill from the main square of Plaka, so those who have trouble with mobility may want to stay somewhere flat, like Pollonia.
The place is absolutely stunning, with sunsets “better than Santorini,” as one local told me, but all to yourselves. The setting is unreal. Fragkoulis, who runs the hotel, is incredibly helpful and assisted us with anything we needed. He has done a great job restoring the old house, with lots of traditional touches and keeping some of the original furniture, but also with great modern upgrades, like a beautiful bathroom and a nice kitchen.

United KingdomThere really isn’t anything we didn’t like. Only a word of warning that parking in Plaka is challenging to find a spot in the evening which will add to your time to walk back up the hill to see that stunning sunset. Also a word of warning for anyone who finds it hard to walk up steep steps as to the property the stairs are steep almost ladder like to arrive in your fairytale castle… however again it’s so so worth it.
Truly amazing location! Stunning views and wonderfully private even though it’s a 5min hike up the hill each day… it’s totally worth it. The property is beautifully appointed with all the mod cons yet at the same time living the authentic Greek lifestyle that makes the difference between any other property you’ll look at.

GermanyIn the future - and if this is even possible at all in a historic building like that - we would suggest the installation of an aircon. Milos nights can get extremely warm and it’s a beautiful comfort to be able to cool down a bit. But this was not a big problem at all, it is just a thought.
I highly recommend this place if you want to experience the most beautiful sunset on the enchanting island of Milos. As a travel journalist who's explored the Greek islands for over a decade, this spot has left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was special with its perfect blend of historic charm and modern comforts. The authentic atmosphere and subtle contemporary touches create a unique and elegant ambiance. The real magic happens during the evenings when you can witness breathtaking sunsets. I was in awe of the vivid colors painting the sky while sipping wine on the balcony. But it's not just the place that makes it exceptional; the hosts are incredibly warm and hospitable, making you feel like family and adding joy to your stay. If you love exploring, the location is perfect for easy access to the charming town of Plaka, where you can discover hidden gems and mingle with the locals. The honest Greek aesthetic of the place creates a serene and comforting environment that I truly appreciated. I can't emphasize enough how wonderful this place is. The photos don't do it justice; you need to experience it in person to understand its magic. If you're looking for a blend of historic beauty, modern comfort, and stunning sunsets, this hidden gem on Milos is an absolute must.
